Pat Calhoun
Boy Explorers looks to be a very pure distillation of S&K's most engaging and enduring theme: the kid gang. And your copy is astoundingly fresh and bright. Earthshaker01, your selection of books has been enjoyable: keep them coming!
Earthshaker01
Thanks for the kind words I am glad you are enjoying them as much as I do. I hope everyone else is getting a kick out of them. Most people don't seem to like the non superhero stuff.
Earthshaker01
Here is a rare beauty. I just don't see this book very often and when I have it has been pretty trashed. HollyWood Comics (1944) #

Earthshaker01
Okay so this is the last comic I will post tonight and I have to give you the background on this one, because, well, you just won't believe it. I met a gentlme in Florida (I'm in California). I had bought a couple books from him in the past. Then he said he had a Tom Mix #1 Ralston Purina Giveawy that had only been read once whenhe was a kid. He told me he was the kid that cut off the two required ceral box tops and sent them in to get the comic. Anyhow he said I read it once and put it in a chest o' drawers and ther eit sat prett much untouched for about 40 years. Then he moved it once to another dresser when he moved and it sat there inside a magazine for about the next 30 years until he offered ot to me. This was about 5 years ago. He said he though about putting it on Ebay and starting it at 700.00. I emailed him and offered him 400.00, two days later he said What the hell ok. It is completely flawless and looks like it came off the press today. This copy would easily be in the 9.6 range and the funny thing is no one even suspects one exists in this condition, I think Lewis Wayne Gallery has one for sale in 9.0 and it has a spine split. Anyhow it is perfect in every way. I think the price is upwards of 10k on nostomania.com It has really shot up. Funny thing is it is rarer than just about any comic out there. I took it to a few dealers out here in Cali and they were astounded one existed in this condition and said I could get double or more if I sent it in for grading. Sad thing is I don't CGC comics and I would be to fearful it would disappear or get damaged. Well here it is Tom Mix #1 Ralston Purina give aaway and just for kicks here is Tom Mix Western #1 in Mint shape as well. If I sell them it will be as a pair. adamstrange
Sad thing is I don't CGC comics and I would be to fearful it would disappear or get damaged. They've graded over million comics so I think they've established their reliability at this point. That's not to say that something couldn't happen in the mail to/from or at CGC but it's very unlikely. That looks like a beautiful copy (thumbs u
Earthshaker01
Agreed I think of anything it would be in shipping and I just can't take that chance. To me it is irreplacable. Maybe Ill take there personally one day and do a walk in and have it done. I got some other sIll post that are rare like that in Nm shape. I have a Werid Comics #1 (1940) in NM condition ill post here soon Along with a Nm Super-Mystery Comic Vol 1 #1. I don't think there are either of those out there in that grade. Earthshaker01
Here is the 1st Donald book. It is in as about as nice of condition you will see. It has no tears, creases or otherwise. Just a little dirty along the edge. Got a guy back East that I may have clean it for me. He said it is easy to remove the dirt because they used linen paper on these.
