MyNameIsLegion
Howdy- posting outside of the OA thread because this might be more appreciated amongst the GA crowd: I just got this piece of original art, which I posted to my CAF page here: http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=991610 I'm sure you guys recognized Murphy Anderson's iconic 1998 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide cover, but I spent a bit of time trying to compile a list of the covers that inspired, and I"m sure there's some I've overlooked, so suggestions are welcome. I posted them in the link above. The naked girl in test tube was a staple of pulps and comics in the GA, as are giant robots, giant brain's, and let's not forget action heroes! adamstrange
Gorgeous piece! Murphy Anderson is a gentleman and great artist. The robot, as you have identified, is based on SA 50 as Murphy drew that one originally but it was inspired by his favorite comic artist Lou Fine and the cover to Fantastic 3. http://www.comics.org/issue/656/cover/4/
