i've known about it for two years now, but i've never gone. i dont expect it to match cons, but i'm curious to know if it's worth going to

It's not a comic con. It's a collectibles show. So they have a huge amount of cards, coins, apparel, and most of all junk. Last time I was there, the best thing was John Dolmayan's booth, but he has since given up being there. You may get lucky and find a dealer setup, but I doubt it.

i know it's not a con. i meant that i don't expect it to match cons. i know a few people who go, so i have a good idea, but the people i know who go don't buy comics. they go for jerseys and what not.

So then you have a good idea of what to expect.

Last time I was there was about a year and a half ago (I'm not a California based member, sorry). I was there mainly for new releases, since some dealers did 50-cents off cover, and no taxes (plus they bagged and boarded every comic). Was worth the trip, since I wasn't too far away from it.

It's about 5min from me. There's a handful of comic dealers in the first row of dealers, then after that, it's nothing but toys, beanie babies and sports card dealers. Gets way too crowded and smelly on Saturdays. I mainly go on Wednesday evening if I need to get something (supplies, guides, new releases).

I'm pretty sure they do. What kind are you looking for? Let me know. I'll check them out on Wednesday. I work out in Glendale/Burbank, so if I pick any up, I can drop them off to you on the way home from work.

The good things about the Frank and Sons Collectibles Show:

1.) Admission is free and this makes stopping by for a quick look-see affordable.

2.) Because there are so many different types of collectibles you can go with more than your usual comic book crowd.

3.) Because the tables are (relativly) cheap every now and again you get a collector selling off his collection and there are deals to be had.

4.) It's a family friendly show - no porn like at the Shrine.

5.) It's near a Carl's Jr!

Parking becomes a pain every now and then (well, everytime I went there, while on vacation)

It's like a flea market

Nowadays. Years back, some tables had porn. Good thing they don't anymore
