Wow, BZ, I've never seen an Exciting 3 let alone owned one!

I have. And Bangzoom's is much nicer 27_laughing.gifhail.gif

Same here, although I still LOVE LOVE LOVE the copy you gave me in the CGC Forum Secret Santa Exchange two Christmases ago. cloud9.gifcloud9.gifcloud9.gifcloud9.gif

They certainly are getting paid a premium for the Superman pages.

Siegel is receiving $4 per page for the Spectre stories, $5 per page for the Star Spangled Kid stories, and $35 per page for the Superman stories.

The $35 per page, adjusted for inflation, is $486.19 per page in 2006 dollars. That's $6,320.47, in today's money, for a 13 page story.

I remember my father telling me he earned about $25 per week back in those days.

Is that $35 per page total for writing and drawing it? Still a lot for those days (Creig Flessel got $5 for a six-panel interior page and $10 for a cover), but not as much as it sounds like if it were only going to one person.

"The Archer" is one of the stories in the "Superman from the 30s to the 70s" book, iirc.

I was away for a few days, were there pics with piles of pulps posted?

I'll go check, it'll be worth seeing the other books again!

Any chance you might have a copy of CATMAN # 20 ? I've never seen a decent copy of that issue.

I still can't get over that All-American 16 from the first couple pages of this thread.

The closest I come is # 30. confused-smiley-013.gif
