BangZoom
I'm a fan of robot covers and that is a particularly memorable one. Thanks to the Internet, if anyone wants to read the Wyndham Smith story, it is available online: Link
BangZoom
BZ, have you ever seen this pulp or series? It's dated Summer 1933 and was released by Centaur Publications. I suppose it has nothing to do the other Centaur but this one was new on me. I never heard of it. I see via philsp.com that the second and third issue of that title ran stories by Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson which is an interesting bit of trivia. The only Centaur pulp related magazine I have in my collection is Detective Digest. Did they publish these as well? I think there is some mention of the comics in these later issues. This ad was from a Centaur comic if I recall. I forgot about them. Comet was published by H-K Publications (Joseph J. Hardie and Raymond J. Kelly). #1 (December 1940), #2 (January 1941) #3 (March 1941) , #4 (May 1941) , #5 (July 1941)
sacentaur
Comet was published by H-K Publications (Joseph J. Hardie and Raymond J. Kelly). With Joseph J. Hardie also being the "Uncle Joe" from Centaur Comics (I never knew they published any pulps).
adamstrange
I see via philsp.com that the second and third issue of that title ran stories by Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson which is an interesting bit of trivia. That may help explain why a couple DC stories landed in Centaur comics since they were already acquainted with each other. I think I have a Comet pulp lying around but never made the connection. This is another great example of what makes the Boards, and this thread in particular, rock!
buttock
The recent book on Bill Everett, "Fire & Ice", made mention that Hardie & Kelly were the pubs of the pulps. Happened to strike me at the time.

My first guesses were Tell it to the Marines and U.S. Marines in Action. It was a weird luck deal. I was actually looking at Major Hoople to try to find the cartoon flower cover.
