BangZoom
Today I'm celebrating the anniversary of Al Williamson's birth. He was a favorite of mine when I was a kid and I thought it would be fun to take a look back at a couple of stories he illustrated for Weird Fantasy #15 (September / October 1952). Robot Man
Thanks guys. Al Williamson was one of the best of the best. One of my favorite all time comic artists. First time I ever saw his work, I was blown away. Didn't matter what company he drew for (as is shown in this thread) his stuff was always top notch. A heck of a nice guy too. I met him at the San Diego EC renunion years ago. Really appreciated his fans.
BangZoom
I met him at a New York con in the late 60's or early 70's. He was as nice a guy as he was a talented artist.
BangZoom
let there be Al, and there was Al I loved Al Williamson's Flash Gordon stories. I especially enjoyed the stories he illustrated for the early numbers of the series published by King.
