My Framed Art

13 posts in this topic

Took a few minutes today to snap some pics of the pieces I've had framed so far. It's always so hard to drag money away from buying more art to actually get the stuff framed, but it's quite fulfilling to see your favorite pieces up on the wall. It's definitely been a shift in my focus away from pieces I know are going to sit in binders to (hopefully) only pieces that are going to be framed one day.

Still a lot left to frame, but I wanted to share how things are shaping up.

A few of my favorite (framed) things.

Nice job on those. The 29 frame looked a particularly good frame choice, and I thought it matched the theme well even before I read the comment below!

One of my fav things is looking at the framing collectors have done on the art and the styles. One day I'll replace the cheap but convenient $10 black, drop in art frames I got on sale at Target smile.gif

The KC page looks impressive too.

Thanks man -- There are times I'd like to do a lot more with the frames, but with B&W art, there don't seem to be a lot of options. I'd love to hear others' thoughts on how to jazz up framing jobs on standard B&W art without it looking tacky...

Hey JesusJon,

I saw your Sandman 45 page by Locke. Here's what I did with mine. I used the cards. The viewer can see the cover, read a bio on Ishtar, and see a card with her on it? When I met Locke, he still had most of the issue at $110 per page. Luckily, I had enough to get one. Are you avoiding Morpheus? If so, my page is not for you. yeahok.gif

Well, I've not tried to avoid Morpheus it just seems I have a skill of not being able to get a page with him on it smile.gif

One day.....

Nice framing on that Locke page Mike, I haven't seen a page framed like that before, what type of frame is that? It looks solid, compact and not prone to breaking at a guess.

My LCS frames most of my art. That's your cheapest framing setup... metal, instead of wood. It is more narrow.
