Actually, the toughest part was repairing the whole through the center. In this pic you can hardly notice it was there. if you look really, really, really closely you can see where the hole was.

Is that part of the famed "Firehawk" pedigree collection out of Akron, Ohio? The original owner, a minister who worked for the Securites and Exchange Commission drove the books from Boulder, Colorado in a Soapbox Derrby racer, and vulcanized the books to minimize degradation of the comics, as I recall.

Dad & Son, it was your thread that inspired me on this project. If you want to compare notes on how we accomplished what we did, PM me. gossip.gif

Also, I recommend you do not try this at home. And if you do attempt this sort of restoration/pressing, always disclose what work was done and by whom.

I will beat BlowUpTheMoon's pricing by 10%, AND thanks to my own proprietary process allow you to post-- with clear conscience-- the following graphic on your on-line auctions when you decide to flip the books: thumbsup2.gif

Note: Currently this service is only offered on selected post-1985 issues. I'm hoping soon to be able to offer similar services for 1982-1985 books, at slightly higher rates of course. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif For some reason the process does not work for any books in this period done by John Byrne, Alan Moore, Frank Miller, or any price variants or retailer incentives. Or TMNT, pre-Unity Valiants, or ASM #300. confused-smiley-013.gif

Cool, you should be able to "service" my entire collection then. thumbsup2.gif
