A great tip for all you conservationists -- from little Bud Cavadini in Marvel's Bullpen Bulletins of a mere 40 years ago.

I guess if the pages were loose already, it's not such a horror. Didn't they have staplers in 1967?

It makes you wonder what other "tips" he had to share....

i dont even understand what he is trying to say. why do you need to remove the staples to put a piece of tape on the outside cover and in the exact center of the book?

Apparently he pulled out the staples, taped the spine, then reinserted the staples through the tape.

 

Maybe I have some of Bud's treasures...

I own a couple books like this, and I have to wonder if the endorsement this method got actually encouraged more than a few people to do this.

After I tape up my books I'll write my name on them!

Be sure to glue a little "library card" slot to the inside back cover.
