GA Green Arrow origin

I have been trying to figure out if there is a GA origin story for Green Arrow. I am told that More Fun #89 is the origin of the Green Arrow/Speedy team, but not Green Arrow. So is the earliest true origin story Adventure #256?

More Fun 73 is the first appearance, but there is no origin there, it's just an adventure.

Does anyone know a GA history person who might be able to tell me?

In the Golden Age, Green Arrow appeared in More Fun and Adventure, so far as I know (you can validate that yourself with a Grand Comics Database search by character). If Overstreet doesn't note an origin story in either of those two title you can pretty much bet that there was no GA origin for him.

Thanks, adamstrange. I did the GCD search (first time, it's pretty slick). Looks like he was also in Leading and World's Finest. I will look through these in Overstreet.
