I also have a bunch of inspirational people two of them being Walt Disney and Steve Jobs because I want to be the next rags to riches story not to the degree of Steve Jobs or Walt Disney but I want to make a million dollars buying and selling a comic and making enough money with this venture to never again say I can't afford something :)

Thoughts and plans

Follow me around for a day.  I will show you very busy.  I find the time to list a few here and a few there.  Once it is listed, it is up until I pull it down.  It does not take much effort to box something up when it sells.  Last year, eBay basically paid for my complete bath remodel.   Some people like to sleep while they are on their hour commute into Manhattan.  I wanted to pay for my bathroom.

I can confirm Buzz is one active m***********.  The amt of yard work alone he does is mind boggling.  The stacks of paperwork he comes home with is mind shattering.  His subway rides are soul-blasting.

So, are we going to talk about how Gabe may have been right on the crypto?

He's probably living a sultan's life by now.

:roflmao:

I seem to recall him saying that he sold it all sometime in 2019 or early 2020, sticktoitiveness doesn't seem to be his strong suit.  Hopefully Wonder Woman wasn't in it for the money.

It was like a reality show mixed with a train wreck.  There was no looking away.

True, I was so mesmerized I didn't even see the train wreck.

I do still wonder from time to time if he ever made the trip to meet his internet Wonder Woman.

I would guess no.

I'm not confident he could successfully apply for a passport (if I recall, she lived in America).

I'm even less confident he could answer basic questions at the border in a satisfactory way resulting in his successful entry.

Honestly, the best case scenario is that the girl eventually scammed airfare for her to fly to him, then pocketed the money and  she never came and hopefully he got scammed for less than $500 total.

Oh man, the look on that CBP Officer’s face when he hears, “I’m visiting to verify my internet girlfriendwife’s super powers.”

of course that is wild, even if they accepted that answer… he won’t get past these:

Q: How are you going to support yourself in the US?  Can you show income or proof of funds?

A:  I brought some valuable comics, cards, and games to sell along the way.  I’m on public assistance in Canada, money is tight, I sold most of my belongings for this trip. I haven’t been able to keep a steady job.

Q:  So are you married to this girl or do you plan to get married?

A:  online already married definitely, but we will probably get real married, we’re so in love.

Q: So when are you going back to Canada?

A:  we will see how it goes, there’s a chance I will need to help my future wife and her minor sister flee their home state.

which would obvious lead to this question:

Q:  Are you on any medication or bringing any medications? If so, did you remember to bring the prescriptions for any controlled substances?

A:  (I don’t know what the answer would be, but I can’t imagine it would pass muster.)

He would light up literally every immigration non-criminal red flag, and maybe some criminal ones (maybe past arrests, conspiracy theories, tax issues, weapons for “protection/rescue”)

I hope he stays in his hometown selling random stuff online while slowly finishing school or building a career.  Or goes far east, north, or west to be a logger or fisherman. Honest wage for honest work

The name is different.

I was kidding.  I just don't see Gabe as someone ambitious enough or convincing enough to rip many investors off for many millions.

It is rather shocking that some 24 year old guy can successfully convince investors that he is indeed the crypto king and sucker $40 million out of investors.  And how long did he think he could get away with his ponzi scheme?

"Pleterski only invested about two per cent of investor funds while spending nearly $16 million on himself — renting private jets, going on vacations, adding luxury cars to his collection and leasing a lakefront mansion prior to his bankruptcy."

I would like to think Gabe made some money off crypto since he was talking it up before Covid and it blew up during Covid.

He sold his holdings pre-COVID, it’s mentioned somewhere in the previous pages.
