Today's offering is simple, and the central book of my Journal montage image.
The Texan #4
This book is easily matched to it's USA St John Publishing counter-part: The Texan #9 (August 1950). However, it is not a full "reprint" with all of the St John interior stories, but I won't get into that as there are NO Baker interior stories/art. Bummer. Grand Comic Database does list this with it's siblings and denotes the publisher as Pemberton's Limited (a United Kingdom publisher). World Distributors Limited is the cover logo, however. And the book was actually printed in France. So call it what you will!
About silver age width with a shorter than normal height. Crazy staple placement (center spine and bottom third). Clean interior printing but as if it's a copy of a copy. Fine line details are lost. I do like the cover paper stock which is light-weight non-gloss.
Pedigree markings on the back cover indicate that the sisters were fighting over this one.
Small wear, writing, a nearly loose centerfold, stains... this copy would likely grade around 3.5.
