  1. I'm not sure that it is illegal to do what filter81 did. Many dealers will make a deal if the offer is high enough. I have bid on many of his listings but usually get outbid and seldom see the listing pulled. bb
  2. My wife hates comics and I have avoided covers that may be too violent towards women...and they were expensive.. However, I wish I had one or two of those in my collection. Thanks for posting.
  3. I have a low grade version of Wonder 15 which I jumped at buying because I had seen a high grade version like the guys posted above and I edited. What Wonder 15 is missing in content, it makes up for in glamour. Some of Schomburg's best air brush work.
  4. He drew some nifty covers for PG-13 rated paperbacks.
  5. I have the Navy version of the coloring book and noted that it is by Alex Schomburg but wonder if August contributed to the Air Force book? He was an expert at drawing aircraft.
  6. There are so many cool Sheena covers. It is difficult to pick just one... and if you prefer the more politically correct version of Jumbo 20 in red instead of blue, you can buy Sheena 4.
  7. OK, I can see that one. Love those Kirby covers.
  8. Everyone but the editors at DC, admired art by Ron Foss.
  9. Some art by Biljo. I don't know who colored this one but he (she) did a good job.
  10. I must disagree with this one. Simon and Kirby invented a multitude of characters for several companies. Shuster art was only used in the early Superman stories and then several other artists took over his strip. His Dr. Occult, Slam Bradley and other strips were more representative of his talent than Superman. Those other cartoonists were stuck with a few characters and did their best to keep them original over several years but passed them on. Eisner was a master story teller that few could compete with. Timely covers during the war were redundant and lacked originality. Schomburg kept giving the editors what they asked for.
  11. I added my two copies in order to compare the colors. I like both but assume your copy is more like what was on the news stand.
  12. I think I still have this one but not sure if I made this scan. The shading used by John is complex. Several patterns were used.
  13. Some of those BLB covers are fun to collect. I don't think I can find enough Buz and Cap. If I can ever dig out from under all of those stacks of golden age I might be able to store my collection of BLBs on the book shelves that are hidden in the back.
  14. I read that John Fantucchio died recently. I remember how impressive his early fan art was. Anyone else have any? Keltner and Miller also contributed a lot.
  15. I think I have one of those in this group. What do you have to offer?
  16. Splash panels look like Reed might have touched them up but it is art by Rudi Palais.
  17. I like all of those covers. I have managed to get a few that I really like and a bunch more and always happy to find them. While talking to Dave Reynolds at Todd's house we both agreed that the inside stories are just as bizarre as the covers. They are a funfest for the Space Opera fan. The copy in the middle was Dave's.
  18. There was also a biography attached to the inside front cover. None of these scans are mine. I just thought a few pictures were needed to show how cool this book is.
