  1. I'll bet the 1981 prices for those Conans were about what they are now. Why nobody love Conan no more? I don't think I liked Conan even then (other than the Barry Smith art) I liked Barry Smith art but really liked stories by Thomas and art by Buscema.
  2. You are missing one...It's difficult to crack them out. I have only cracked a purple one so I could add a centerfold.
  3. A lot of pretty good crime comics out there. The Crime Mystery book has a Hollingsworth cover. He did that one before he wrote the book about the Guggenheim Museum.
  4. I enjoyed reading Turok when I was a kid. Dinosaurs and American Indians were a nice mix.
  5. Sometimes the end run is better than the middle issues but middle of the run had Baker art too. Sheena was there to help on the earlier covers but by the end of the run the victims were on their own.
  6. Classic. I would love to won a copy. The first italian apperance of Donald Duck in comic book (but it’s a reprint, as the Silly Symphony originally appeared in the Disney journals, "Topolino" I believe) is in Nel Regno di Topolino #8, from September 1935. Inside the comic is printed in two colors (black and red). First Donald Duck appearance was in Adventures of Mickey.
  7. I like both of these books, especially the dust cover version, when I can find it.
  8. I like those Tom Mix books and I added a few rings to wear while reading.
  9. Great books and rare! Only not collected because you never see them! ..... Superman titles from this time period are some of my favorites. Here's one I just got in ..... I might list it on Clink but it will be so high that I'll be keeping it for a few years at least. I could never collect Actions.... too many and too high.... but everyone should have a few. I totally love this cover and it's the tightest 7.0 I've ever seen..... I'd have been a bit angry if I'd submitted it. This is just the kind of book I like to deslab...... there's no chance in hell it would ever go down in grade if resubmitted. GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) ..... Superman thread on Page 9 ? I could use a cover for my copy of that Action comic. DC must have had second thoughts about a super-companion. They waited almost a hundred issues to introduce Supergirl. Superwoman 1 never appeared too.
  10. I have one lower grade than yours missing centerfold i think. Great job yours looks nice ][/img] My copy has pencil marks on the cover but the interior is in good shape. I think I turned the contrast up too high. It doesn't look tan when mixed with other books.
  11. Now, I have to add that Alley Oop to my list. Sweet books! There are several that have great girl covers by Xela around that issue. You will like 'em all. Not sure if this was my scan but here is another Oop and it has the initials AS at the bottom.
  12. Mostly Single Series for this group. Joe JInks was Ed Lahmann's favorite. From A-E #6:
  13. That's A and C number 2 (March 9 1948)and none of these have trace marks. Covers are by Kamen, Lily Renee and Frazetta. I think Oop was by Xela but it isn't marked like the other issues.
  14. Half of these are incomplete copies....
  15. Getting MLJ stuff always seems difficult. These Suzie and Wilbur comics seem to slip by all of those Archie and Katy collectors.
  16. My collection has a bunch of Mutt and Jeff books. The DC comics are fun because of all of the House Ads.
  17. Sorry, I must have posted a scan from the Digital Museum or one I picked up on the boards. I have three copies of that cover but they don't match the one I posted a few days ago.
  18. Skyman was my favorite feature from Columbia.
  19. This original painting by a Midwestern artist looks similar to the Planet cover but is related to the Mars Attacks cards from Topps Edit: Actually it looks more like that Marvel Science cover.
  20. DC invested a lot to keep the Batman franchise alive. Many artists and Bill Finger combined their talents for consistent quality entertainment.
  21. I like Spiderman but it was more for the stories than the art. However, I really like the art Steve did for all of those horror and mystery stories back in the fifties.
  22. Someone mentioned that they liked Suzie. But how about Wilbur and Katy?
