  1. I picked up a few more Lone Ranger comics to add to the box. I have two boxes. One with covers and one without. I think they are about equal now.
  2. My Daredevil 1 is a big fix up job but I do like that Everett art and Wood did such a great job on the redesign of the costume.
  3. I wanted to make sure I joined this club. The other TTA keys are nice to have too.
  4. Iron Fist is part of my original collection. Iron Man and Subby 1 was a more recent purchase. Avengers were accumulated over the years. My original copies went to Bell or Rogofsky.
  5. I always like those strange Hitler stories. He was the number one villain during the war and occasionally, as in Blue Ribbon Comics, he was the devil himself (or at least a nasty demon).
  6. Wolverton splash pages are always impressive. I saw this one in the Creeping Death from Neptune biography about Basil.
  7. Ooh, those Caps are nice. This is supposed to be a Kerry Drake group shot but I had to sneak in a little S and K.
  8. I added a number 1 to my Black Cat collection. Harvey was one of the first publishers to reprint golden age stories which featured Spirit, Black Cat and Fighting American. I have been a fan of these three ever since.
  9. Big All-American is one the big DC three...but I like all of the World's Finest issues too. None of my copies are signed and copies are incomplete.
  10. Great group...I don't have the one in the middle.
  11. I wish Jerry had signed my copy of AE 4 when I visited him but all I have is this letter. and Don Rosa was fun to talk to but too busy drawing to talk very much.
  12. And this copy of the Flash giveaway was signed by Kubert. I saw him at the New York Con and he was surrounded by fans. I didn't even get close.
  13. I did see Robinson at the Jewish Museum but didn't ask for a signature.
  14. even Tessie... and Joe Nice ones BB. What is that Tessie the Typist from? I think the Tessie splash is from Joker 14.
  15. What is BZ doing on page 6? bump...
  16. I don't remember Spanky McFarland ever appearing at a Houston show, but I could be very wrong. I remember him being at a show in Dallas in the early 80's. The first time I saw him at a show was in Memphis at a western movie convention. I waited in line for a signature and he was so gruff and complained so much, "I was treated so bad. Buy this still first. Where's my ten dollars? I hate this stuff!". I'm sure there are times when he was Spanky but that day he was Cranky. It turned me off to the whole idea of autographs. I do have a comic signed by Martin Nodell and I have a few others signed by Robinson and Kane and Kubert but Martin was one of the few creators that I have met and talked to. He didn't complain and was very nice. I didn't ask him to sign the comic. It was from someone else.
  17. I like Our Gang comics with art by Barks and Kelly. Issue 18 was signed by Spanky. I like to imagine it was signed at one of those Houston Cons that he attended "way back when...".
  18. I picked up the Leading 5 recently. Any Meskin cover is good to me.
  19. These look pretty good together. Finally got the Adventure with that Slam Bang fanzine cover (see above).
  20. Posted pics of these fanzines in Facebook group. Didn't know that the Super-Hero print run was only 20. Nice to hear from MikeTuohey again.
  21. A couple of ringers in this group too but it makes a good picture.
  22. Sometimes it seems like collecting GA horror is like collecting heads or skulls.
