  1. I actually like the group with Robin but adding Batman helps.
  2. I have three of the puzzles and a bunch paper toys from Fawcett.
  3. I have a copy and it doesn't have a werewolf story. I think the stories may be a little more gruesome but not horror
  4. Seven Seas are pretty nice comics with a few good Baker stories in each. Not to mention the Seven Sea girl covers.
  5. Jon brought some nice items to the mini con at the House of Pons. He had early New Fun comics, Planet original art and both Action 1 and Detective 27.
  6. The copy of Maximo that I have is from 1940, I think. The author could use Superman in the title because the term was used by Shaw back in 1903. There are at least three stories that feature this character. Ed Lahman's article in Alter Ego 4 claimed he predated the DC version but he probably didn't.
  7. I could use new covers for most of these.
  8. I first learned about Maximo in Alter Ego 4 (J. Bails ed,). I think I have a couple but they might be the same story.
  9. I noticed a couple of Green Hornet serials on the internet have the same title as the Big Little Books, Are the plots the same or unrelated?.
  10. I like those Mickey Big Big books, I have another Tracy book and another Mickey but didn't see those Big books very often.
  11. I really wanted all of those Disney BLBs but my interest in other titles has distracted me.
  12. Flash Gordon published by Harvey were j8ust reprints of the Sundays by Alex Raymond but they were the best scifi available for many years.
  13. Not found in the golden age but I always liked Nausicaa by Miyazaki.
  14. Tabloid is about 11 by 16 inches and comic size Spirits are about 7 by 10 1/2 inches (about the same size as a golden age comic. see below) The end of the run is a little more valuable than the middle. The first issue is posted on the first page of this thread.
  15. I don't think the newspaper matters but some newspapers printed in tabloid size and full pages. Tabloids sell for a little more and full size that need to be cut down to comic size sell for less. Tabloid size comics:
  16. I agree with 6 and 8 but I might like APC 10 as much if I actually owned APC 6.
  17. I store many sections in mylar with life-extender backer boards. Similar preservation would be done by CGC graders.
  18. I don't think newspaper sections, like The Spirit, age differently from comic interiors. The problem is storage. Newspaper comics that I stored neatly in a pile are less damaged by age than pieces that are more exposed to air and heat. Many of my sections are off white and in pretty good condition in spite of being 80 years old.
  19. I collect those Simon and Kirby covers. I also found three different Chan movies on Epix TV. All are good detective stories but Rochester was probably more inappropriate than the Chan family.
  20. What happened to the earlier Captain America Comics (TOS). Did the price go up? I like the Kirby covers.
  21. I had trouble logging in again. I tried logging off and back in. Seems to work now.
  22. Merry Christmas to Pons, Dave, Terry, John, Tom, BZ, Scrooge and all of the other Golden Age Fans.
  23. Does it have the Whizzer story? I keep mine in a bag with a copy of the cover.
