  1. Love those Cold War comics BB, Frank participated in WWII but not sure whether he made it into the spy world of the fifties. I think Frank was on the wrong side for a while but he saw the light and helped the Allies when they needed it.
  2. That's one of those covers that makes you think Raboy stands out as one of the best comic book artist ever...or he worked way to hard on that one. Nice... Raboy was one of the best. This Flash Gordon example, not mine, is fantastic. If he had done Timely or DC work his name would be far better known and I'd have to spend far more on my collection. I am not sure why I don't have a Green Lama issue in my collection but I have lots of Flash Gordon pages. In my youth, I peered nose to nose at those pages (near-sighted) and loved every page in the Sunday funnies my grandmother saved for me. They were special and nothing else matched them until I saw work by Alex Raymond.
  3. That's one of those covers that makes you think Raboy stands out as one of the best comic book artist ever...or he worked way too hard on that one. Nice...
  4. According to Ayers, the cover was Schomburg pencils that were inked by Ayers. I thought Ayers confirmed that he did the cover and not Schomburg.
  5. I like that one too. By Ayers, not sure what the wrapper says.
  6. I never noticed this. Are both covers signed by Montana?
  7. Very cool group! I have a copy of #35 (2nd row on the left with Huey, Dewey & Louie in the fridge) & I just love the cover. The refrigerator brand is "Phreezo" & for whatever reason that just cracks me up every time I see it. The happy looks on the nephews' faces & typical angry Donald are great too. I cringe at the idea of children sleeping in a frig but I don't blame Barks. He didn't do any of the covers until much later I think.
  8. I agree. Great covers on some of those Street and Smith books.
  9. Gerber "7"s you say?!! I like em'!! Great books BOOT!! Here are mine... I sold two FF just like those to Dave Reynolds. I dumped them because of the tan pages but I didn't know how hard it would be to replace them.
  10. I posted this one several years ago but it is still a fav.
  11. It's easy to find books by Barks' but they have been well-read. Here are the first 16 stories but I am missing a few covers.
  12. Some of my fav war propaganda books...
  13. Very nice group of covers that I have never seen before. Do you have more?
  14. I only have a few crime comics by Feldstein but I really like those stories.
  15. As sometimes happens with big plans, things change. As it turns out, card numbers 17, 19, 20, 21, 25, 27, 29, and 30 were never published. So you had most of them and only need #11 from issue #18, and 12 and 13 from issue #25 to complete the set. The cards were all published on the back cover of Captain Marvel Adventures #15-26. Somebody must have liked them, because beginning with issue #76, two cards were published on interior pages, usually of the same character. These cards were smaller and on inferior paper. I know they were published at least through issue #86, but they were less interesting to me so I didn't check any further. Many thanks Rich. That REALLY makes a difference. It is an interesting set that I would love to complete if I can. Cards are also on the back of Spy Smasher 7 and Whiz 35 but they are cards you already have.
  16. Hake's, Bob? I was watching that lot... Love these little cars.
  17. I think this is the back cover for Captain Marvel 19. My copy has a nice front cover but someone liked the cards.
  18. All Star 27 is a pretty good Veteran's day post too.
