  1. TERRIFIC! mm Love the Black Cat! She's Is it a Jill Elgin cover?
  2. I keep that one with my favorites. I think I have two.
  3. I think someone already posted a WDCS 98 but there were lots of Disney Halloween issues.
  4. Thanks for sharing these. I like the early Mickey stories reprinted in WDCS.
  5. Nice picks all, this one stands out for me too, never seen it before. Cool! Thanks for posting! We posted that Police cover on a werewolf thread. He actually should be a darker color and not the bright orange.
  6. OK, there is a one panel scene with the coach and Two-Face but nothing as impressive as the Sunday strip.
  7. If you are looking for this Two-Face scene in Detective Comics, you won't find it. It is probably taken from the Sunday page story line by Burnley.
  8. Where do they get all of those fancy hats?
  9. These look nice together. Purchased new covers for MM 22 and 24. MM 19 was from Dave Reynolds. MM 21 was from Ernest Toth MM 26 was from Jon Bevans The rest are forgotten.
  10. I used to have a robot like the black one. The drawer at his waist contained a set of tools for working on the robot or for the robot to use.
  11. Just wondered how your copy compared to mine. It seems like even brighter reds in yours.
  12. She never road her motorcycle on the cover so I had to create a fantasy cover.
  13. What's so great about this hobby is the diversity and amount of books to choose from. I have a ton of PCH and yet I only own three books from your grouping! Many on my want list! Great group shot! I think I have 9 of those but always wanted the Weird Tales of the Future and This Magazine is Haunted issues.
  14. Congratulations! I love them all but for some reason I have always wanted a copy of number 4. Can you show us the interior? I have a lot of early issues which I haven't identified yet. I think if you get on the Grand Comic Database you can identify your interiors. [font:Century Gothic]One picture is worth a thousand words...[/font]

  16. Congratulations, those issues are such an important part of comic book history and it is always nice to see new copies. You just might be lucky and find a coverless copy on eBay. My own guess is that the last Mickey Mouse Magazine is slightly less common than the first 4 issues of WDC&S. The circulation started growing exponentially from month to month at this time after it had been stagnant in the years leading up to 1940. The issues between V5#12 and WDC&S 4 are relatively uncommon as far as Disney comics go, but they are nowhere near what I'd call scarce or rare. Of the 5 issues, my best guess is that WDC&S 1 could be the most common as kids would have been more likely to like it and keep it safe. I still think MMM V5#9 is the real transition issue, i.e., the smaller format and strip reprint content. MM 5#12 is just the last issue.
  17. Sure - with all the great books popping up here, I didn't think folks would be much interested in this. I like the Big Shot title - with Vincent Sullivan as editor, the books have interesting characters and a decidedly early DC feel. I got interested in that title after seeing reprints in "Supermen". The interiors are way better than the covers would suggest. Same here Dan, and quite true. I like some of the Skyman covers.
  18. My office has become the battleground for the latest robots vs superheroes war. Based on the last man standing rule, it looks like the robots won this one. My 4 year old grandson helped with the destruction.
  19. This golden age reprint arrived in the mail today. I got a free copy from Roy for sending scans of the All Top 18 story. Glad to get but was especially thrilled to find reprints of all of the South Sea Girl stories in the same volume. Now I have to buy the other books to go along with my Volume 3. I really appreciate the way they changed the cover of Rulah 8.
  20. From Wikipedia, Frank Godwin described himself as a frustrated engineer...
  21. This self-portrait of Billy DeBeck with Barney Google and Spark Plug was before Snuffy Smith.
  22. Electricity was used to bring the monster to life according to the legend. I don't advise using it on you goldfish.
