  1. Tis the season for...football. I'd like to think Bugs was on my team but I guess he had the letters first.
  2. That's good news. I'll have to search for this one. Haven't seen the Baker box in a few months. Two favorites. Which one do you like better? Schomburg may have an advantage due to his airbrush technique.
  3. Lots of interesting stuff out there. I think this Rudolph book is listed in the guide. This first edition has the tri-motor airplane on page 9.
  4. Nce book Jack. I've always liked this one too.
  5. I met the granddaughter of the cover artist, Maelo Cintron, in my biology class last year. She was also a student teacher as part of our introductory biology team.. I found a few more copies of Castle Frankenstein in one of the boxes at the bottom of the pile. I remembered that Roy Thomas asked a question about the Stan Lee interview in one of these issues. Does anyone remember the question...or the answer?
  6. That's good news. I'll have to search for this one. Haven't seen the Baker box in a few months.
  7. Speaking of mice... Love those window displays. I really like the art on the early Tom and Jerry Our Gang stories. I mostly buy them for the Barks but enjoy collecting the later issues for Tom and Jerry.
  8. Spoiler alert: Someone correctly pointed out that those guys aren't really robots but men in robot suits. I still treasure my copy anyway.
  9. That Tracy cover reminds me of this Jack Cole splash. Both are pretty cool.
  10. Someone else got credit for that cover but I think it looks like Meskin's work. Reminds me of one of his Johnny Quick covers.
  11. Sometimes I think Burnley should get a lot more credit for building DC comics. His work on Batman, Superman and Starman was superb.
  12. Early issues of Gift and Xmas are pretty nice. It takes 5 large 64-page issues to make one. I have a later Xmas that is really poor and a nice Gift comic with a reproduction cover and I like them both. Unfortunately the little fuzzy green sock X-mas cover has disappeared but eventually it will find another interior.
  13. I have always liked that one and it is easier to get than Batman 27. These are fun too.
  14. I enjoyed this Chester Gump and Santa conversation.
  15. I am not sure whether Scribbly made it on the cover but I enjoyed this cartoon.
  16. It looks like Mutt made it on the cover for Christmas in 1937... and again in 1938. Jeff didn't show up until 1945. Why was that? Is it because he was a bachelor and not very good with children...or is it actually Andy Gump on the cover? Thanks to GCD and Comic Book Plus for the info and covers.
  17. Mutt and Jeff were around in the early 20th century but don't know what their earliest Christmas cover was. Earliest Xmas cover I have is still Foxy Grandpa Plays Santa from 1908.
  18. The scan that I found only had a blurred face for Wertham. I added the red ink. damn brother and here I thought there was another gruesome panel I needed to get... Anyone else have a Jungle 104? Is it blurred or clear in the panel above?
  19. Three of these have a Christmas theme. Were you a fan of Supersnipe, Marty? I remember reading an old issue of Supersnipe when I was 9 or 10. It disappeared.
  20. Sweet copy! So hard to get books in this run. Love that cover, and LB Cole interior art too! Cover and interior is mostly by Palais. Other stories are by Appel, Albright and Van Buren.
  21. It took me a long time to buy them all but they look nice together. Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad and Fröhliche Weihnacht überall and ...
  22. The scan that I found only had a blurred face for Wertham. I added the red ink.
