  1. Are those the Paul Terry Mighty Mouse issues? I like the Robot Cover on issue 38. Oddly enough your bound volume is probably equivalent to the 384 page Mighty Mouse giant issue in red. I think it contains MM 42 and 43 plus a few others.
  2. Which issues of Popeye do you have? Back in the sixties Roy and Jerry had some of their comics bound because that's what Gardner Fox did, I think. Other collectors followed their example. Perhaps it was also an early attempt at preservation. I would have done it if I could afford it. I have a few pulp collections bound. I think some of the libraries did that too.
  3. I like the old Tom Mix collectibles. I only have a few rings and Big Little Books.
  4. Do you have a fanzine collection from the sixties? I still have a beat up Alter-Ego 4 that I purchased back then. The other two were acquired later.
  5. I agree with others. Human Torch is America's most popular hero (except for Captain America).
  6. It's wonderful to see a signed Superman puzzle. I wonder who would have to sign my Captain Marvel Engine of Doom?
  7. Welcome Bob. Love the comics in your collection and the premiums and the robots and ray guns. :banana:I have a few of those but not seen many of the toys except at the Geppi museum.
  8. I passed on that one several years ago but never seen a good deal on one since then. The early run of MM seems to have a lot of people interested who don't collect Ducks. Nice...
  9. Those guys were all superheroes (or reformed pick-pockets) in a way but no special costumes.
  10. I added a few ringers to my Wonder Woman group.
  11. Not sure if my group shot made it to this thread but here it is again. Donating to the campaign against infantile paralysis earned you a Red Feather comic featuring Tracy back in the fifties. Even poor children received the vaccine when it was introduced. Back in biblical times poor infected individuals were stoned to death.
  12. My copy of Gift comics has a story from Spy Smasher 6.
  13. Back just in time for Christmas. By the way, that Space Adventures issue looks like #33 with the Steve Ditko origin story of Capt. Atom.
  14. Nice cartoon by Shelly and this is a pretty nice painting by Wyeth. Doesn't he remind you of one of Bilbo's dinner guests?
  15. Thank you much. I thought the 9.4 sold from Geppi, through heritage? Gotta figure that's locked away too, until it isn't. Here's the old pic of the run of WDCS I picked up oh those 10 years ago. FC 9 on the arm of the couch too. I think the difference between OW to W and White is a matter of mood for the graders that day. If I throw in the coverless issues my volume 4 is almost complete. Volume 3 is still missing a few.
  16. I thought you had to go to Dearborn for a visit to get one. I visited there in the fifties but don't have a memory of the comics. They did have a super model display.
  17. A lot of effort went into making this page. Thanks DC, Inky, Jerry, Don and Bob.
  18. That's good news. I'll have to search for this one. Haven't seen the Baker box in a few months. Two favorites. Which one do you like better? Schomburg may have an advantage due to his airbrush technique. Baker. More girl, less shark! Good point!
