  1. For those of you that enjoy high tech solutions to your coverless comics, you can find some nice copies of GA comic covers on ebay. Check out "comixs04", I tried other dealers and have been disappointed. I find Tom provides a nice cover for very little money. Can you determine which of these covers are original?
  2. Nice pick up, Bill! I paid more than 5 cents for my Nickel comics cover and I like those Spy Smasher stories and covers too. I also added a few fun items to the pile. SS 1 is just a copy.
  3. They didn't use cheap ink when printing those EC comics. I like this Weird Fantasy too.
  4. Some really nice books in that pile.
  5. It should look like this, in case you didn't know.
  6. Strange Adventures #8 doesn't have any stories credited to David Reed. Evolution Plus was written by Gardner Fox. There are so few stories that use evolution as a background. Most seem to question the theory, this Wonder Woman story seems to use Darwin' theory in a scientific manner. I remember reading an ERB novel that also used the theory as part of the story.
  7. [font:Arial Black]One of the guys, Comic Jack, posted a scan of the Phantom Creeps comic. With Bela and the giant killer robot, it has to qualify as one of the earliest horror comics.[/font] OK, I posted his pic. Sorry Jack.
  8. ...and how did that skull end up in a story drawn by Baker?
  9. skullerific! Mysterious Adventures usually had a skull or skeleton on the cover.
  10. Another Oksner scan which someone probably got from a reprint. Thanks, but sorry I don't remember where it came from.
  11. Thanks Scrooge. I don't think I have listened to Jungle Jim before. I am a fan of the Shadow, Green Hornet, Lone Ranger, Superman, I Love a Mystery and Buck Rogers radio shows. They have the Buck's origin story in the OTR library. I love the early Buck Rogers Sunday pages but mostly have those and the dailies in reprint volumes.
  12. I would like to see all of those comics. You can also post your Want List in the Want to Buy section. I hear It works pretty well.
  13. This may be my favorite because it was the most recent LB Cole cover that I purchased.
  14. There may be a few other Ditko covers that I like better but this is one of the best golden age covers that I have.
  15. Good call. I actually think I like Venus #1 better as well. I even went so far as to get Ken Bald to recreate it. Here is mine and my recreation. ] I like that first issue although the later issues appeal to a larger market apparently. I substituted my scan for yours and cleaned it up a little.
  16. I always think of Star Wars Chapter V when I see this one.
  17. I think that is Agnew on the pole with Sup and Frank.
  18. Oksner did some early work for Timely and Nedor before he became a DC humorist. Oksner's photo from Michael Vance.
  19. I also noticed this Tom MIx ad for the ring preniums.
  20. I like the Clifford strip. I found a few pages of Bob Oksner's Cairo Jones while rummaging through my Sunday pages this week.
  21. One of the best things about Black Diamond was Bing Bang Buster by Wolverton. Mad went a little further with its parody of the Lone Ranger but he was wearing the red shirt with blue jeans.
