  1. If anyone ever finds a story about a thief who hides out in an abandoned manor, then makes his way upstairs and finds a dead witch laying in bed and then get chased by rats until he falls through the stairwell and breaks his leg. Please let me know.
  2. "Lo, There shall be an ending." (FF43)
  3. RIP Stan- He sure knew how to make the most of life didn't he? Can you imagine what comics would have been like if not for him? Thanks Stan!!
  4. That story is very nostalgic for me. It is one of the earliest memories I have of when I started buying comics. It was the talk of the neighborhood when it came out, at least for kids around my age at the time. They used to carry a bit of a price bump. I'm not sure if they do anymore.
  5. There must be some market for this or sellers wouldn't be doing it. I personally don't like it, but if you have your own personal book and you want a sketch, it's your book, do whatever you want to it. I just don't like sellers doing these things to increase the value of a book. Particularly when they take 1.5 graded books, throw a signature on it and put vg or better prices on the book. Its just an attempt to get as much money from a trashed book as they can get.
  6. There is a Walmart near the Antelope Valley Mall that still has lots of #1's. Most are getting damaged, but there were still 3 teen titans #1 in nice shape. I was just there today and found #2 for Superman and Justice league. There were very few available of the 2's and most had some wear. No second issues of the Batman or Teen Titans though. There are about six Walmart's in that area. I visited three and this was the only store carrying them.
  7. I want to say 9.0 too. It all depends on how hard CGC wants to hit it with that lower defect. I mean other than the two defects it is an extremely nice cover with deep colors.
  8. I would certainly get it graded. I would also think that could come back 7.5. Not much wrong with it other than the color breaking spine ticks
  9. I can't see a book with that much tape being any higher than 1.0 but I could be wrong.
  10. Looks 5.5- but if that is a fold on the upper back cover then I would take it down a grade.
  11. Lots of 4.0 grades here. I am going to go out on the limb and say...4.0
  12. The white background really brings out the dirt. I would say 2.5 but could get a 3.0 if the Golden Age rule is still being used.
  13. Looks to be a nice clean copy to me with minor wear here and there. slightly rounded corner but I still think that's an easy 7.5
  14. Wow, she is very good! I love how she started off with WYANE on the tombstone. Very sweet!
  15. If they wanted to, they could just explain that the bite broke his skin but his jacket or clothing kept the bacteria from reaching the wound. I still haven't seen the episode, but even if the bite looks infected it could still be a regular/normal infection from dirt. Even though I'm not a big fan of Chandler Riggs, anything could still happen. I trust Scott Gimple as much as I trust a proctologist with a hammer.
  16. Yeah, I have seen some pretty outrageous prices on some books. It seems that many people are using MCS to fish for ignorant buyers which frustrates me. I can still find books at reasonable prices from them but I have to look extra hard these days.
  17. I hate to be the one to bring it up, but Mycomicshop's consignment books are soiling their reputation. All one has to do is run a search on any key book on Ebay to see what I mean.
  18. MY father was stationed at Ramstein and we lived on Landstuhl army base. The Stars and Stripes store was on the bottom floor of the hospital right next to the cafeteria. We were there in the early eighties. I'm not sure what type of ink they used at the time as many of my star stamps have kind of rubbed off the cover from being in the Mylar bags I guess.
  19. That would be Diversity & Comics. he has been reviewing and trashing Marvel books for months. Its a political issue so can't really be discussed in full detail.
  20. I've purchased about six books from them this past year. I think one book might have been a half grade off, but they are still one of my favorite sellers. I like their pricing better than Mycomicshop since most books from them are sold on commission these days.
  21. I know you have been collecting for a long time and I respect your opinion. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any discoloring, but using a 2 mil bag inside of the sleeves should protect against that shouldn't it?
  22. You have that right. I don't recommend anyone use them if they have had problems with them in the past. Maybe in a few years I may have the same experience that you had. But so far I haven't had any problems. I've only been using them for a couple years.
  23. If I was worried about dust I would just use a 2mil bag like skrank does. It's not my hangup to be honest. Keep the lids on your boxes and don't spill any beer over them and things will be fine.
