No. Cgc's website says they only do that for green labels.
    https://www.cgccomics.com/grading/label_description.asp

I believe they only do that for blue labels when the signature is on the first page.

Also can you post more pictures of the corner? Maybe a picture of the back cover? The damaged corner appears in the stock picture of the actual books so I'm pretty sure its in the printed art and not actual damage to the book.
    Thanks

No, if there's an unverified signature anywhere on the book it will *always* be noted on the label. Doesn't matter whether the books end up in a blue or green label slab.

  2. There are a couple of different options:

    Comic Mounts:
    http://www.comicmount.com/

These can be wall mounted, but I prefer using them just standing.

    Frame it again, Sam:
    http://www.frameitagainsam.com/

This guy has been making wood frames for CGC books forever - a ton of boardies use his frames to display their books.

    Comic book pods:

Another option for wall-mounting - these are a bit sleeker than the Frame it again, Sam frames.

Restoration includes..."cover cleaned." I thought getting a comic dry cleaned wasn't considered restoration? Unless this is a different type of cleaning? New to the forums, someone please kindly educate me on that.

Follow up question, what traces/ proof does a 'cleaning' leave on a cover that CGC can tell the cleaning has been done?

I believe that cleaning has been done throughout the years, the only thing that I can think of is there is now an "approved" method, as opposed to a long time ago when there might have been harmful chemicals used.....

No, a "cover cleaned" designation means the book has been chemically cleaned (eg. "wet cleaned"). This always results in a restored label.

A book that's been dry cleaned won't get a restored label - and it won't be noted on the cover either (because it's impossible to detect if done correctly).

The issue is only persistent across the top right section of the book.  The top left (pictured below) doesn't appear to have a similar issue.  I bought the book on eBay so I can't speak for how the previous owner(s) handled it (ie if it is indeed a stacking issue).  Looking to get the book signed/graded soon and was just trying to figure out if it would drop the grade and if I should just save my money.

It's ink rub off from the issue that was on top when the books were in the Diamond box. It's very common for this issue and isn't treated as a production defect by CGC (eg. it does affect the grade just like any other defect).

BCW has mylar 2mil bags too but dont carry the "fullback" / Mylites brand.. they do their own.. I think anyone can buy from them?? I have a dealer account mainly for our shop but.. if needed i can see what it would cost to drop ship if they dont.. but im pretty sure they do a 'free shipping' over $80 deal??   I really like their normal bags/boards etc.. havent ordered the mylar's yet but will probably end up with some for different stuff.   let me know if you have questions I can help answer.

BCW doesn't carry true acid-free backing boards - only the coated-on-one-side regular backing boards - so it doesn't make sense to use their backing boards with mylar bags.

I'm looking to convert the bulk of my collection to Mylar and half or full backs and had a question.  Is it ok to store Mylar bags AND poly in the same long box?  For example, if I have a run of x-men that I will switch to Mylar, can I keep them in the same box with a run of say, x-factor that I don't think merit the upgrade for a few years?  In other words, would the poly bags help degrade the Mylar bags in long term storage?  (Sort of a, 'one bad apple spoils the bunch' situation). Maybe just the ones that are actually touching and I should use a divider?

I know there are infinite topics on mylar VS poly, but I could not find any discussion on storing them TOGETHER, if that is a concern at all (hey, I'm no chemist!).  Sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this in.  New here, go easy on me lol!

EDIT: to clarify, since it's longer term storage I can definitely split them up in different boxes, I would just MUCH rather prefer to keep the whole collection's current sorting.

The poly bags won't have any effect on the mylar bags.

And, my post is hidden because I used the dreaded word and not Voldy.

    This is what I wrote:

I've read bits and pieces of the discussion and as with all discussions, there is more than one side to it.

From what I've gathered the person who initially posted the video (and I assume made it) was someone who had a gripe with Voldy and some people chalked it up to sour grapes.

A con will try to game any system when there is money to be scammed from someone. Deal with people you trust and do your homework, especially when spending big money on books.

How is there more than one side to this?

What he's showing in the video isn't exactly news - I've cracked a ton of Voldemort slabs for customers who wanted their books CGC'ed instead and it's insanely easy to open up their case and put it back together again without it leaving any noticeable marks. It's always been one of the reasons I've stayed well clear of their books (well, that & the rampant over-grading straight out the gate when they launched).

Sorry to hijack the thread, but is there a thread somewhere that talks about how to submit books to CGC at a con? I'm going to do it for the first time (first time submitting any books) and want to make sure I don't it up.

    Thanks

There's nothing to it - go to the CGC booth, tell them you want to submit some books and they'll take it from there.

I may open a can of worms here.. hopefully not.

I completely disagree with this chasing method and cgc should not allow it.

Look, I understand most of these cgc official witnesses are trusted by the company but money talks. Who's to say one unscrupulous witness and a friend decided hey a leonardo dicaprio sig would be worth a lot of money! I can see someone faking it for greed purposes, which is why I asked previously to know the story behind the dicaprio sig here.

I think CGC should ONLY accept subs from events like conventions or where CGC  full time employed officials are in attendance to further guarantee any sig. Like how the old lables from circa 2005 were when it said Signed by so and so At Wiz World Philly on whatever date. There is too much grey area for me with these super rare sigs that it's enough for me to question the validity of them.

Now I know you're going to say well cgc can't be at every con! but there are trusted likes like Rich, Torrey and Dre who are and a simple check of the show program will show said celeb was in attendance.

Thoughts? I'm not calling cgc out here just saying money talks and all it takes is one person to do this to compromise everything cgc stands for.

CGC stopped allowing "chased" SS books years ago - the company on the other side of the street seems to have no problem with them, though.

Well I looked again--there are 14 CGC SSS with triple or above sigs--Neils sigs are on 11 of them.Since he wont sign at cons anymore these are rare I think---even allowing for the odd one out which doesnt exist in myslabbed.com.

I haven't updated my collection on myslabbedcomics.com in a while - I checked and I currently have 36 issues of Sandman that have 3 or more signatures. But, yeah, Gaiman signatures are very rare these days.
