  1. Like many long-time board members, I have learned about an endless array of scams on them. I am glad to have done so because, as is said, forewarned is forearmed.
  2. I agree, thus why I wrote "may be". etc., and, as you note, what has occurred since has eradicated any good that may have been intended.
  3. The comic books I track regularly, Batman 200 to 300 and Detective Comics 400 to 500, have, that I've seen, alternated in auction price from relatively cheap to relatively expensive. Of course, that can be said for many, if not most, Bronze Age comic books. I will note that the asking prices for these books tend to regularly be on the very high side. Still, some do sell; I have not purchased them, but sellers don't need me to.
  4. In HR's history, it may be that those folks who received their comic books back in a "timely" manner are few and far between. Where such instances done "honestly"; that is, the comic books received the complete service that was paid for in a reasonable time period; or as a way to encourage them to perhaps submit more expensive comic books? I, naturally, do not know the answer.
  5. Looks like my collection, except for all the comic books in the photo.
  6. USPS in my area is great. As with you, when I received my CGC shipments via USPS I or another adult family member had to sign before the boxes were surrendered.
  7. I bury my comic books in my yard, so what do I know.
  8. FedEx, the gift (big grift) that keeps screw... you over and over and ....
  9. As I continue to post, apparently I can't resist, FedEx and, to add to another poster's comment, UPS in my area have left a lot to be desired for, at least over a decade. The very few good folks that worked for either were too long ago given other routes; perhaps they left for other positions. Thus, we are stuck with workers who don't give a .... and when one complains they do a better job that soon vanishes like a thousand dollar bill left very visible at the subway station.
  10. I'll note, as an aside, that FedEx very "generously" frequently delivers my packages, including from CGC and comic book retailers, to other than my address. When kindly delivering them to my address, they launch them from the front path unto my porch unless it is raining and then they graciously leave them on the stairs so that they may be washed by the rain. I joke, but barely.
  11. It is quite odd that, in my recollection of this thread, there are instances of comic books being returned, in worse shape than when submitted, due to the threat or commencement of legal action. Yet, regarding the new poster, all it took for HR to start "looking for" the comic books was basically "please return them." Granted, the comic books may never be "found." Call me cynical or a realist, but, as countless others have noted, HR's track record, especially recently, leaves no room for the benefit of a doubt.
  12. Perhaps Don Askmi, Isa Forgut, and Leme Alon were also involved.
  13. All comic books may be a 9.8, perhaps a 10, if one grades with their eyes closed.
