  1. knowing how to scan and having a decent scanner are, at least in this case, two different things. I thought it was a good buy on eBay...but I was wrong.
  2. What a beauty, Andrew. Your scan sucks, though.
  3. Wow. That's a nice display. I just sold my #4 to help pay for other purchases. I'm sure I'll regret it. My lord, that's more than a baker's dozen! You've got to love that. What is the large-format reprint on the right?
  4. No, but I bought it as a semi-private deal before the top blew off of the market.
  5. I've gotta admit that Jumbo 10 is a great cover. It's on my list (but then so are all the others.)
  6. Just got this one in from the last CLink auction. It's a beaut!
  7. That's a good approach, especially if you find someone dumping them on eBay.
  8. Bronze and copper ASMs are so common in 9.8, they are usually pretty inexpensive except for keys. 9.4 and 9.6 copies ought to be sitting in bins across the nation for a couple of bucks each.
  9. gotta get me one of those, cuz it would look so nice next to this one. Two of many I'd still like to get.
  10. Fine work setting that straight. I assume Peter Palmer's are all SS submissions and not the DF versions.
  11. Okay, so if I've got this right, there are really the following covers: Marvel Authentix Sketch Cover - just the plain printed sketch with an empty box. Marvel Authentix Sketch Cover: Sketch by JRJR and will ALWAYS be a GLOD since Wizard had the sketches done but CGC never witnessed them. Marvel Authentix Sketch Cover: Signed by Stan Lee - I've no idea if this is a GLOD or SS. Marvel Authentix Sketch Coer: Sketched by JRJR Round 2 - Still a GLOD or now an SS? Marvel Authentix Sketch Cover: Signed by Stan Lee, John Romita, and JRJR - No idea if this is GLOD or SS. Looking at what is available on eBay and he census, it's pretty clear that CGC lost track of what they were calling what. The current two designations they have are probably a mish-mash of the various cover/sketch types.
  12. Very helpful. I know CGC will give a specific variant designation to 'Wizard Authentic" books with the little Wizard hologram label on them. They all get green labels since they were signed at Wizard and sold raw. Any chance that is what CGC is doing with the ASM V2 #1?
  13. The Registry says there are two covers for Amazing Spider-man #1 V2. One is labeled 'Marvel Authentix: Amazing Spider-man #1' and the other is labeled 'Marvel Authentix: Amazing Spider-Man #1 Marvel Authenix Sketch Cover.' As far as I know, I've only seen the sketch cover. Are there really two versions of this?
  14. Kudos to Trey Cannon for quick shipping and good packaging!
  15. Lars! I found a #10 on eBay one day and couldn't resist buying it. I've got to get #11 and complete the entire run. Gotta be easier than finishing my Avengers!
  16. I can love a beater without being afraid the cat might decide to pounce on me. Reading it would be like wearing your dress shoes to walk in a cow pasture! I might make it through just fine...or might not!
  17. That's the same book. Comic Book World had it for about 16 months before I bought it. I bought this one raw from the same collection.
  18. This is the second. I don't know if there is another TTA or TOS pre-hero graded this high. It had just sat around unloved for too long. It does mean I've got a nice 9.0 I can part with.
