  1. And I'd really like to know why these nutjobs were hanging in a tree when a 50-foot tall monster was on the loose. I mean, really, can you say 'Darwin Award Candidate'? LET GO OF THE DAMN TREE ya bunch of fools!
  2. Come onnnnn. His eyes are as big as the people's heads. Maybe he's just pissed off coz everyone TREATS him like an MR/DD candidate. His brain has got to be as big as a volkswagen. Besides, the tree probably works great as a toothpick. It'd fit those gaps just perfectly. Maybe the whole problem is just gingivitis.
  3. Yeah, start at the top, you won't have to go very far.
  4. ... as you can see, I have very conflicted emotions on this one. You people are keeeeeling me! Congrats JTMF, I need to go have a nap/cry I pulled a Vito Corelone, and made Brent an offer he couldn't refuse. He politely declined my offer of a severed horse head to be added in to the books and money I sent him though. Don't worry Chris, last time I checked, your collection was still the bee's knees, with or without a crusty old Fighting Yank book to sully it up. I was looking hard at that one, too. When I went back for a second look it was already gone to Brent. Glad you picked it up Jive.
  5. I'm very partial to Droom and the red cover on #9. Gorgo has a long way to go to catch up to Droom.
  6. Jeez, how'd I manage to leave out the most important word? Must be bed time.
  7. Yes, and a reasonable number of dead men, too!
  8. When I saw them I knew I had to either buy them or regret it for a very long time. I've NEVER regretted buying them.
  9. Just got this in from AdamStrange. Gorgeous book!
  10. I got nine graded including the two I've already posted. I'll try to get the rest up this evening. They are all from that same collection from the old store in Covington, Kentucky. The place closed up around 1961 and the owner kept all the comics in a box in his basement or in the store (don't know which or even if it is both). He passed away and his wife and son have kept them until she/he started to sell them off a year and a half ago. The JLA 1-3 that sold for $105k (combined) on Pedigree Comics came from the same collection. There is an incredible collection of Mad magazines that are likely the top copies available, it's just to one wants to buy them. Comic Book World in Florence, KY still has a number of graded copies left including the 9.6 TTA 16. I've got about 50 books from the collection but all are raw except the nine I just got graded. Titles include Space War, Tales of the Unknown, The Double Life of Private Strong, TTA, TOS, JIM (only one issue - #66), Konga, Gorgo, Jughead's Fantasy, Strange Worlds and probably a few other titles I've forgotten. Page quality isn't the best but there almost all the top graded copies for each issue come from that collection.
  11. Just in from CGC and I thought you guys might like it.
  12. I don't think this guy is really a robot, but, what the heck.
  13. So do tell: who's home is it going to??? Given the page quality and beautiful cut, I've got my prime suspect picked out.
  14. Binding those books really helps with color preservation. Those are really striking.
  15. That is sad. My LCS has a nice run of Planets that are three-hole punched. Do you/did you own the TOS copy? Regardless, that is a nice book with excellent cover.
