  1. No worries, as I can read his lips and he's clearly constantly saying the exact same thing over and over again........"you dumb bunch of insane suckers"!!!
  2. Well, it's only stoopid if you are naughty and take a look at the actual book itself with the clearly misaligned front cover , instead of only focusing on the CGC 9.8 label like you are supposed to be doing:
  3. Missing or held back? I believe it was stated that the Suspense run started from issue #5, which would explain why those early issues are missing. Since they aren't in the current auction, I imagine these later issues are most likely scheduled for the next Heritage Auction. The ones that I find rather strangely odd are Seven Seas 4 and Seven Seas 6 which are both conveniently missing from the short Seven Seas run.
  4. Considering the classic cover, still a much better buy than a copy of Silver Surfer 9 in CGC 9.8 for $42K or a much later Transformers 1 for $44K.
  5. Is this an implication? Yes, I just can't stand all this SUSPENSE here even though the 1, 3, and 4 are missing:
  6. Didn't I see somebody here post a running total for this first batch of 274 Promise Collection books, which I can't seem to find anymore. Looks like I am just going to have to go with Mitch's total since he seems to be right on top of what's happening with this Promise Collection here:
  7. Are you referring to the big big shoe that just dropped on the CGC 5.0 graded copy of 'Tec 27 that has rocketed up to $837.5K or just over a $Mill with the BP juice in there?
  8. B's arms would have to be straight out though. And he isn't wet enough. Well, if it's a Mapplethorpe-like cover, then I am sure that Robin, his boy toy would love that bondage cover much more so than this rather boring mundane one here: BTW: Never noticed this before, but is that a scuff defect or just a printing defect on the black line in the spine to the left of "Lady" on this misaligned front cover here?
  9. Still rising as it's now at $150K with the BP juice which from my own personal point of view is an absolutely stunning price for a book with a clearly misaligned front cover: https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/marvel-spotlight-5-ghost-rider-marvel-1972-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/a/7244-91011.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515 I bet you all of the long time comic book collectors from way back in the day are hoping a rising tide can lift all boats and they can finally recoup the money which they had to pay for their HG copies back then.
  10. Not sure where this Heritage CGC 9.8 misaligned copy is going to finished up at, but your post from a full month ago definitely seems to be playing out as it is now sitting at $150K with the BP juice in there already, with still another day and a half to go: https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/marvel-spotlight-5-ghost-rider-marvel-1972-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/a/7244-91011.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515#
  11. Sorry, but if I can see those color breaking creases right from your scanned image without having to zoom in at all, I very much highly doubt that they can be pressed out.
  12. None. Date stamp I believe a small unobtrusive date stamp would have no impact on this CGC 9.0 graded copy, but that larger than normal greased pencil date probably DID have an impact on the final grade.
  13. Getting harder for my eyes to see as the years go by, but is this the book you are referring to:
  14. Celebrating all of your anticipated or pending auction wins, I would imagine then.
  15. I think however, the fact that the promise collection comes one day after the two big auctions on Thursday might make the effect a bit less, we have to see in the future where they place the future auctions. I guess we still need to wait and see what happens with some of these big non-Promise books on Thursday, as some of them (including Church copies) are still running at mere fractions of what they should finish up at. Now, if I was thinking of selling some big high dollar value GA books, I would definitely give some second thoughts to consigning them while the Promise Collection books are still being released concurrently. As a buyer though, this just might be a good time to place some bids on some of these non-Promise Collection books to see if any of them falls through the big cracks that the Promise books are possibly creating here.
  16. We didn’t see the same kind of exponential growth. Are you sure about this? Weren't books like XM94 in CGC 9.8 selling only in the teens before hitting in the low $20K's earlier this year and then going to $63K the other month? Weren't GSXM 1 in CGC 9.8 going for only somehwere in the $20K's before shooting up to $67K and then dropping back down into the low $60k's? Weren't CGC 9.8 graded copies of TMNT 1 selling in the $50K's to $60K's last year and now we see slightly lower CGC 9.6 graded copies selling in April for $66K which was then followed by a sale at $88K 2 short weeks later. Or to top off the craziness, how about a no name books like Transformers 1 selling for $44K!!!
  17. Well, I hope you went shopping and loaded up on your supply of Depends this past weekend because you only have another 2 days to go now before you start putting them to good use with both the Heritage Signature/Promise Auctions this week and then the CC Event Auction next week.
  18. Well, from taking a closer look at the Promise Collection, I guess Mark Wilson had a rather short and abbreviated stint in there with Heritage since I no longer saw his picture or name in there as one of their Consignment Directors.
  19. Well, I took Mitch's advice and I am now higher bidder on several of these Promise Collection lots and even on some of the non-Promise pedigree books which are still going for only fractions of condition guide. I guess there's no chance of a system wide shutdown like what we had on the boards here last week, so that I'll actually end up winning a couple of these lots here.
  20. The only problem with the Water Cooler is that it's clearly a place for boardies and Mods who have an absolutely negative sense of humor because every time I venture over there, I end up being banished to the CGC sin bin to cool my heels and to reassess the way I think.
  21. I imagine there's still a lot of bidding to go on the non-Promise Collection GA books as I just jumped one up by several thousand dollars, but was still outbid which was actaully not a surprise to me at all, I would have to say.
  22. Absolutely NOT as it's totally sane and rational to me when compared to this Transformers 1 that sold for a crazed and rabid $44K and probably a book that was simply pulled out from the loonie box: https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?id=1452303#detail Especially since grading is still not an exact science and really nothing more than a subjective opinion (albeit a so-called expert one) when a book crosses the grader's table. Look at all of the fun and games that you've been missing on the boards here during your 1-year absence, especially the absolute craziness that we've seen during the past few months.
  23. Being the resident Wall Street financial expert here, I greatly appreciate your feedback here since you haven't been posting here as often in the comics related threads as compared to before. From a pure financial equities point of view, can you explain why Pfizer has been stuck in this whole $30 to $40 price range throughout this whole pandemic, with a return of probably less than 10% ever since the start of the Coronavirus. If there was any company that should be benefitting from this situation, I thought it would have been Pfizer with the billions and billions of vaccines that they are going to be selling going forward. Of course, they do have a huge market cap, but shouldn't these vaccines be jacking up both their top and bottom lines big time? So, even with your big pending June sale of Marvel Spotlight 5, you are not satisfied and planning to unload more in the next September auction? I guess no plans to pick up any of those oldy moldy Promise Collection books or a new younger and hipper generational favorite like Transformers 1 for say $50K?
  24. The only one of this group that I am rather shocked at in terms of pricing at this point is the Mask 1 at $79K. I guess we also shouldn't forget about FF 48 which is spprinting close behind this group right at $75K for now. BTW: Is there a simple and fast way to sort the HA auction results by say highest prices first like what they have for the CC Event Auctions?
  25. Yes, totally shocked at how far behind the Mask 2 is in comparison to Mask 1, especially since some of the recent auctions indicate Mask 2 seemingly approaching (if not catching up) to Mask 1 in terms of pricing. Of course, the conditions for the Promise copies of both of these Mask books are different, but then again, that's still a huge huge pricing difference between the two of them for now.
