  1. Well, I'll leave the details to Pat, but I guess you definitely must have been a very very good little boy and praying very hard because your wish for Police Comics has clearly been granted.
  2. All I can say is that it's certainly nice to see that you like to plan ahead and think long term, and I mean really really long term. The only question which I have is how can you be so confident that you will still be collecting comic books at that time and not in a seniors home by then?
  3. Well, that was sure fun to watch and a real battle royale for these 2 Zip's as they were the last 2 books that ended up closing out this CC Event Auction round. Quite a bit of extended auction bidding on these 2 Zip's here as the Church copy of Zip 14 was in the high $7K's before it finished up at $9,799 while the mid grade copy of Zip 32 above was in the high $4K's before it finally finished up as the last lot of the night closing out at $7,800. For awhile there, I was starting to wonder if the Zip 32 might even possibly end up catching the Church Zip 14 by the time it was all said and done, but no such luck. Still, definitely pretty strong prices from my own personal point of view for both of these Zip's.
  4. Now, this other Jon Berk/Edgar Church copy of Wonderworld Comics 20 also didn't do too bad as it also finished up strongly at $6,200: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/875231 Similar to the Berk/Church Wonderworld 3 above, this exact same copy here also sold for significantly more than the $3,544 that it managed to received on its first go round in the Berk Auction a few years ago.
  5. Wow, oh wowza............now, this book here really ended up finishing strongly at $64,111: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/885353 Now, that's about $13K+ more than what it had originally sold for back in the big Jon Berk Auction a few summers ago, and also more than the equivalently graded Allentown Copy which Metro/CC sold for $55K back only in January of this year.
  6. Well, I guess the sure fire way to not lose your bidding history is to open up your wallet and keep on clicking to ensure that you win everything you bid on. Looks like that doesn't even work because this revamped version no longer have my winnings from prior auctions like how they used to. Looks like you have to go through the time consuming way of checking back on your Outbid messages because they have a link in there for the item you had bidded on. Since I am getting up their in age and simply can't remember all of the 3,000+ individual books which they had in this particular Event Auction here already, I just wish they had sent out the email like in previous auctions which simply gave you individual links to every single lot in the auction in one convenient spot. Now, that most definitely would have taken care of your problem for you. With the way they have it now, when you click onto the daily session links, all you get is a message that says "No Results Found, Try Adjusting Your Filters or Search". Maybe we should get this @Michael Brill guy here to take a look at some of these issues that we've identified and hopefully see what kind of response we get.
  7. Just checking out today's offering for CC's Event Auction and it looks like there's a nice tempting cadre of Zip's in there for the MLJ super hero collectors. Besides the CGC 9.6 graded Church copy of Zip 14 which is already sitting at $5,100 there's a nice mid-grade copy of Zip 32 with the classic Nazi skeleton cover here, although it's already right up there at $3,855: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/885356 Advantage for any last minute action on these Zip's would probably lean more towards the West Coast bidders as some of the East Coast bidders might already be tucked away and sound asleep in their beds by then since it would already be after midnight for them by the time these lots hit the 3-minute buzzer.
  8. I checked some of the books that closed for this Event Auction here the past few evenings and every single one so far is already in their auction archives. Well okay, not for the AS 8 or the Sensation 1 because we all know the reason for that as they did not meet the Reserve price. I wish somebody like Vinnie would send out that email like last time whereby we can have all of the individual links for each one of the lots for this auction all in one spot. Haven't seen anything like that on this go round here, but still checking their daily auction email and nada so far, so here's hoping.
  9. Oh wow, is this something brand new that's just been released by DC since I don't remember any of these Famous First Editions being done for any of theire-hero books? If so, is it available only in hardcover and what was the price for it?
  10. Yes, once you sign into your account and select Dashboard, the Dashboard menu on the left is your friend as it gives you access to everything within your account.
  11. Oh, you little party pooper...........you was supposed to tell us the name of the book so that evil doers like @tth2 can have some fun going into the weekend. Seriously though, glad to hear that CC was fast on the ball to take care of this situation for you. BTW: What was the book???
  12. Unless you decide to tell us what the book is and one of those evil minded boardies here decide to punish you with a bid like $20K or just enough to activate your max bid.
  13. If you win it for your max amount, you'll REALLY have a story to tell and a lot of tears to shed while telling it. Of course, no worries as all of the conspiracy theorists on these boards here will have your back and be screaming like there's no tomorrow.
  14. I always thought that was part of its appeal. Scarcity. Well, I guess Heritage went and decided to put all of those misleading rumours to rest then.
  15. Well, if you don't get a response back from them by noon your time tomorrow or even sooner before they all go home, I would most definitely give them a phone call.
  16. If you are referring to the CGC 1.8 graded copy of More Fun 67, it actually finished up rather strongly as did most of the More Fun's at $1,872: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/889494 With their new revamped auction website, you can actually find out the hammer for all of the individual CC lots from this current Event auction as they are all automatically loaded into their auction archive immediately upon completion.
  17. You're a classy guy, thanks for your contribution You are most welcome, and for your information, I have a nice clean garbage can and now willing to sacrifice its sheer beauty by taking those nasty and trashy looking copies of TMNT 1 off everybody's hands and tossing them all in there and making this world a much more beautiful place for all of us.
  18. Well, if you listen to @Mmehdy , it just might have something do do with this whole new and devastated economic environment that we are now living in as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Then again, it might not be, so who really knows unless you know or can ask the consignor yourself.
  19. You really think Eastman and Laird's collaborative artwork is bad? Well, it's really a case of to each their own I would have to say. Especially since I am clearly much more of a mainstream artist type of collector as opposed to an Crumb like underground artist type of collector. Definitely the reason why I handed back that first print copy of TMNT 1 as fast as I could to the LCS owner when he said he could ordered me a copy direct from Mirage for the then outrageous and price of $300, and decided to go instead for that signed and limited hardover edition of the Dark Knight book by Frank Miller for the now overprice amount of $40 back then.
  20. Well, let's not forget about all of the mothers that would be throwing that horrid looking POS book out into the trash once they got a look at the artwork in there. Then again, I guess we shouldn't forget about all of this new fangled high tech equipment that's around nowadays like high end full colored photocopying machines and all types of paper stock to choose from.
  21. Are you referring to Silver Thursday and what happened to Nelson Bunker Hunt when he attempted to corner the silver market back in the turn of the 80's, as we all know what happened there. Maybe looking backwards in the future, we will just have a TMNT 1 day here also.
  22. I believe they already got a thread going on this new Chinatown Collection pedigree on the GA boards here: From my own personal point of view and most certainly from a condition grade wise POV, it's definitely much more deserving of a pedigree designation and pretty much a no-brainer when compared to the Cookville, Eldon, or Harold Curtis pedigrees which was a bit of a puzzler to me when CGC announced them during their new pedigree label launch last summer.
  23. When I see pics like these, it makes me think that this book is really readily available in all of its variations which it clearly as, as long as you are willing to open up your wallet a bit. In fact, so readily available and with many multiples held by possibly the same owners, relatively easy to manipulate the TMNT 1 market to a certain extent if you really wanted to and decided to put your mind to it.
  24. could be old label grade bump expectation ? also the book once belonged to a has been 'actor', soooo awesome Or it could be due to the fact that it's now been 3 years since the CC auction and the comic book market has gone up by a noted amount in that time frame, depending upon the particular book you are talking about.
  25. Just checked and it appears that the CGC 1.8 graded copy of More Fun 67 which is closing later today is now sitting up there at $1,250. I guess it's still up there from the demand point of view, although it would appear that most of the other More Fun's that's coming up in today's CC auction are still sitting at only around condition guide prices or even less at this current point in time with just a few more hours to go.
