  1. For those who love the really early pre-hero New Comics, it would appear that CC has a few of them available in their upcoming Event Auction: https://www.comicconnect.com/browse/auction/1?page=2 Unrestored mid-grade copies of books like New Comics 7, 9, 10, plus a New Adventure 22 don't tend to come to market that often. Not sure how reliable this info is though, since the revamped CC website still seems to be a work in progress right now.
  2. Yeah. I saw that thread when I was researching book. Seems 52 it is. Wonder if there are 2 versions (Canadian?) or if GCD is just a mistake? Looks like it is just a mstake in the GCD Summary Total Page Count header when it says 68 pages. If you add up the individual story pages in the GCD Database, it adds up to only 48 interior pages which then would come to a total of 52 pages if you add in the cover pages.
  3. Well, it's really rather simple if you refer to this link from CGC itself which talks about Restoration and Conservation: https://www.cgccomics.com/pdf/restoration-grading-scale-handout.pdf As CGC themselves clearly state in big bold type right at the top, "Restoration is one of the most complicated, misunderstood aspects of grading comic books". If fact, so much so, that CGC themselves often gets confused between what constitutes Restoration from what constitutes Conservation. Looks like from their own breakdowns and definitions, married interior pages or married covers clearly falls under their Restoration umbrella.
  4. The 1.0 was sold. It was posted as a clerical error. @Gotham Kid Is this because books sold directly by HA (i.e. not through auction) are not recorded as part of their archives since the only recent CGC 1.0 graded copy I can find is a Cr/OW copy that sold for $83,650 back in May of 2017?
  5. From RicksNeatStuff’s sales thread; methinks KirbyJack posted in the wrong thread since that’s an S&K, not Flessel. You guys are the absolute best as KJ already sent me a PM the other day with a link to the thread. Anyways, congrats on your pickup of Adventure 73 since I have always considered that to be an absolutely gorgeous almost 3-D like cover image with Manhunter seemingly stepping right out from the cover.
  6. Which thread is this Adventure 73 from? I absolutely love the cover for Adventure 73 and definitely one of my favorite GA covers with its almost 3-D like look as Manhunter comes right out of the cover.
  7. They have absolutely no auction information at all, whether it be any information for their upcoming auctions plus the links for all of their individual historical auction results are no longer active (i.e. no auction archives of any kind at this current point in time).
  8. Do you have a link to the portion that's working? As far as I can tell, not very much on their site is working at all, unless you want to slowly scroll through 97,000+ comics to find the one you want. I don't even see a link to their next Event Auction which would normally be up and in the midst of being populated long ago.
  9. If I had any books consigned to their next scheduled Event Auction for this coming March, all I can say is that I would seriously consider either pulling them completely or at the minimum, pushing them off until one of their subsequent Event Auctions later on in the year. Especially considering the very strong likelihood that most bidders will probably still be trying to figure their way around this new website, if it's even up and running by then. After all, didn't we lose well over half of the board members here on these very boards after CGC made their big revamp several years ago? Even then, it still took several more months before some of the members decided to come back to try to register for the new boards in the end. Now, if I was a potential bidder who really wanted to win a particular book, this is probably a good time to try to win it when some of the other bidders will not be around.
  10. exactly...gotta be a work in progress Well, either that or they've decided to do away with auctions completely since their current website don't even have a section or icon for auctions. I hope this useless kindergarten school IT company they hired to revamp their website was smart enough at least to retain a copy of their old website just in case.
  11. Well, it's quite obvious you haven't tried the site yet because virtually nothing works according to this thread here: No links to their auctions, no customer account information, no auction results history, etc., etc.........just a big smelly pile of doggie doo doo here.
  12. Wonder why all of ther date stamps for the 4 Irene Claxton books posted so far are all well after the published months on the respective covers? Usually, the date stamps are a couple of months prior to the published cover date (i.e. return dates) to reflect when they actually hit the newsstands. Actually, they all seem to show the same 2 dates of February 20/21 of 1937 and August 29th of 1937.
  13. Well, it looks like Gene was correct that it hadn't yet doubled since he made his comment back in 2018 when the average realized price was only at $4,838. Looks like most of the action to take the prices up to and past the $6K target took place in 2019 due probably to Disney reacquiring back the movie rights for X-Men.
  14. Wow, absolutely amazing that you kept all of your grading notes for this astonishing collection of yours even though you had sold it off decades ago. From the grades that you posted here, I guess it definitely confirms that these very early comic books are usually found only in relatively low beater grades.
  15. No doubt in my mind................but what in the world was you smoking?
  16. Like they think... how DARE there be competition! I TOTALLY agree...........you guys should meet halfway out in the middle of the street and really it out in a royal rumble for us to watch.
  17. Well, after all this talk about this stunning copy of Supes 1 relative to its 3.5 grade, did anybody here bothered to dig into their pocket for the Grader's Notes as a public service to the rest of us poor and wishful wannabe's?
  18. A perfect example yesterday being the fact I learned that the much long awaited and thought for dead Pedigree Book is now actually off the bench and back on the starting blocks: I assume this means that we can now expect it sometime this decade since we have almost a full 10 years to go.
  19. I joined the boards in 2005, but immediately fled because it bewildered me. Why in the world would you leave when those were the wild, lively, and rollicking days when Danny Boy, Masterchief, Red Hook, etc. were on the boards and enlightening all of us to the fact that it was not all sweet and innocence when we open the CGC kimono to take a closer look at what's inside? By comparison, today's boards seems to be a relatively dead zone in terms of often hours passing before there is another post in a particular Forum, and sometimes even a full day between posts for major forums like the BA or CA forums and even shockingly, the SA Forum.
  20. Well, how can any of us forget about the single one and only infamous and rather controversial post from the Dentist himself where he really gave it to us and proceeded to tell us exactly what he thought about these boards and some of the board members here.
  21. Well, I imagine it probably really depends if you are planning to come back from across the dark side of the street and back into the light.
  22. You seem like a smart guy... Here is where it all went wrong. Well, not only that, but he then actually went and doubled down with the following obviously ill-informed comment: Go Figure that!!!
  23. if you were ever on the fence on getting this book....this is time to buy it...great upside And if you happen to own a copy of Supes 1 and was on the fence about consigning it to Heritage for auction.....this is definitely NOT the time to do it.....huge downside. Needless to say, if I was one of the consignors for these Supes 1, I would be totally with what Heritage did here in terms of taking away one of the biggest selling points behind this book here. Namely, it's apparent rarity relative to all of the other GA keys and instead showing its obvious ready availability to the other GA keys.
  24. Well, I tried the links for each individual auction lot as provided from the email messages which they send out prior to their Event Auctions and it leads you to this: https://www.comicconnect.com/idle-timeout As expected, it takes you to their Home Page from yesterday which states that "The Page You Were Looking For Doesn't Exist".
