  1. Highly doubt it's a photoshop becuase if you check the CGC serial number, it shows up as a 15 cents price variant of Bat 2 graded in 2017: https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/1247345007/ I also remember seeing a picture of this exact same book in the pages of CBM way back sometime in the 90's.
  2. Well, according to the CGCdata.com website link below, it looks like a CGC 9.2 copy of 'Tec 27 was graded back in the latter half of 2014: http://www.cgcdata.com/cgc/search/comicid/4/6mo
  3. My favorite one is the one with the classic cover for Action 13, although it's also hard to beat the one with the iconic cover for Supes1:
  4. I wish I could, but it looks like they are available from eBay at various prices since they were actually issued back in 1995: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/264278399556?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=706-89093-2056-0&mkcid=2&itemid=264278399556&targetid=1280635549183&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9001562&poi=&campaignid=9561945096&mkgroupid=125182655160&rlsatarget=pla-1280635549183&abcId=1063836&merchantid=138581224&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0PWRBhDKARIsAPKHFGj1lDykvGE8a1pTwDTVN_81MbqKYxR7379bvm-8TQB7gc6wOsWZa6UaAoOOEALw_wcB
  5. yes, there are one or two here and there for sure ......... Most definitely as I still remember including Superman 14 with the classic patriotic shield cover as one of my Top 5 GA covers for a CBM survey back in the mid 90's. Then again, what do I know since I was the only person to include 'Tec 31 or Punch 12 in my list of Top 5 GA covers at the time. Also can't argue against Superman 23 as that's an absolutely classic close up periscope shot of Superman.
  6. Not sure if they are a lot harder to find or not, but for sure books like Action 2, 'Tec 28, Bat 2, and Supes 2 are most certainly much more affordable than their preceeding more iconic historic issues.
  7. Well, if you love the cover image for Superman 3, then I imagine you must also love this stamp from Canada then:
  8. Did you check the Graders Notes for both submissions because that certainly sounds like an abnormally huge downgrade on a straight resub?
  9. For real? Is that even a key? Well, from your response to my post, I guess it clearly shows both of our ages here. Yes, I still remember the late 70's when Avengers 93 was the most expensive of the BA super hero books with only Spidey 121 and 122 being the only books to come even close. That was when Spidey 129 was yet to be even broken out in the Overstreet guide and books like that along with X-Men 94 and Hulk 181 were still guiding for less than a dollar. That entire run from Avengers 93 to 100 with the Adams and Smith art was definitely huge back then, especially in terms of the squarebound Avengers 93 with 52 pages of pure classic Neal Adams art from cover to cover: https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-avengers-93-marvel-1971-cgc-nm-96-white-pages/a/122144-11168.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515# I would assume there must still be some love for Avengers 93 since this CGC 9.6 graded copy here sold for $5,040 back in October of last year.
  10. Well, since we just started with the auctions for 2022, I am not that surprised. Any idea how many copies of Mask 1 & 2 were sold in 2021 because I got the impression there were several of them, including a few on CL.
  11. Besides the beautiful Wally Wood art in the first few issues, with the popularity of si-fi related TV shows nowadays, I always though this M.A.R.S. Patrol storyline would have made for a fantastic TV series on one of the independent networks or streaming services that seems to be so prevalent right now.
  12. Yeah, looks like this once former supposedly HTF book is actually not so HTF as it has not been only showing up on most auction platforms during the past few years, but now with even multiple copies available in either the same or back to back auctions.
  13. Like I said, it's really a case of to each their own..................as a long time comic book collector though, I am definitely much more interested in comic books that have value (i.e. sell for multiples of condition guide) across the entire condition spectrum or even in restored condition, as opposed to those "common as dirt" books that have value only in CGC 9.8 or above and then pretty much worthless in any grade below that. To me, it's all good as long as everybody enjoys whatever it is they are collecting, whether it be comic books or CGC labels.
  14. I still remember way back in the day when Avengers 93 was the biggest BA book of them all and collectors just had to be in on that book there.
  15. Well, since these 3 properties might already have their rights owned by other companies, I would love to see this series here revived:
  16. To each their own, but if you are a true comic book collector, simply buy what you like and if they happen to go up in value, just consider that to be an extra bonus. Now, if you are more into comic book speculating or flipping, just remember that it's all about trying to time the market as what was stated up above, 99.9% of the MA books will be worthless to the point that they would not be economically feasible to grade and slab unless you can get a guaranteed 9.8 grade or higher out of them. Of course, at that point you would be no longer be collecting comic books any more, but really collecting CGC labels.
  17. Totally agree with your point about MS 5 being not only a tougher book to find in grade, but also the fact that Ghost Rider, as compared to Moon Knight, is a much more popular and well known character to the general public and broader marketplace given his movie and TV exposure. In fact, Moon Knight is such a forgettable character that I never even realized that I had a copy of WWBN 32 and 33 in my personal collection until I was rummaging through one of my comic book boxes last year and came across copies of both of them. No doubt they were only placeholders until I could find nicer condition copies since they would probably grade out to only somewhere in the 6.0 to 7.0 range or thereabouts. Obviously, I must have completely forgotten about upgrading them because Moon Knight was such a forgettable minor character, but still nice to see them sitting in their original polybags with their 40 cents price tags still on the bag. I am just totally shocked that I would have even picked up those 2 books at the time, as I certainly can't remember having any interest in Moon Knight at all. Needless to say though, but looking retroactively backwards now, I am certainly glad I did. As for Marvel Spotlight 5, you are 110% right as it's going straight to the moon, especially since I have a HG copy of that book (no doubt along with most other long time collectors here though ) somewhere in my personal collection.
  18. Hey Richard; Since I remember sending you a picture of it some years ago, you are more than welcome to post it here and it would certainly be nice to see. Now, if you are going to wait for me to find the software or take the time to try to figure out how to do this first, I'll probably be in that big comic shop in the sky before that ever happens. BTW: I highly doubt that my Allentown copy of Mystery Men 10 would compare to your gorgeous CGC 9.4 highest graded Church copy of Mystery Men 10 from the Jon Berk Collection.
  19. Well, if you think $70,500 is a lot, then you've got a whole lot more to burn and a much bigger fire in the end with this book here at $264K: https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/marvel-spotlight-5-ghost-rider-marvel-1972-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/a/7244-91011.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
  20. That 9.6 was $0.12 too once! 😱 Oh heck, why not...........................I"ll mannup and take both of them for a quarter and still get a penny back in change.
  21. No thanks as I already have 2 copies of that book which I had cherry picked off the shelves of the LCS back in the day, which is probably 2 copies too many considering how common that book is in grade. Then again, I just might have to take you up on your offer considering that a Werewolf by Night 32 sold for something ridiculous like $70,500 on CC last week: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/947977 What's even more crazy is that their auction listing description stated that a copy in equivalent grade had recently sold for an even more ridiculous $80K.
  22. You definitely should have jumped on that FF 211 especially since it was a CGC 9.2 graded Bethlehem pedigree copy that sold for only $5,711 which is a bargain compared to the lower graded CGC 9.0 copy that CGC sold for a whopping $19,800 a few short months earlier.
  23. Sadly for me at least, arrived too late and left way too early after the big GA rush in the mid-90's when I thought books had already pretty much gone past my budget by that point in time. Hence, didn't really get too many truly HTF books in the old days except for a few early pre-hero DC books when I first started before I made the typical move into much more common DC and other mundane GA super hero books. Needless to say, nowhere even close to some of the truly HTF books (eg. New Adventure 26, 27, etc. ) which you and some of the other boardies have been posting here, but at least I get to enjoy them through various posts from other boardies here.
