approx when will that option be avail for selection? i just looked and still list only the A-B-C versions?

So, the census updates every Tuesday?  Maybe Wednesday.  Everything that ships out Friday will show up then.  So, I am hoping this will update then as well.  If it is not showing up for you on the OSF by Wednesday, let me know and I will try to get it added ASAP.

"Obligated to put them together"??? Does that mean that Whitman, Mark Jewelers, newsstand, and printing error variants are "obligated to be put together"? Come on, man... Where's the common sense here? The census is not for estimating comics based on indicia. It's for estimating differences that collectors care about, right? We have a wonderful tool here. Let's keep it as accurate as we can. Sheesh...!

Did you miss the part where these are now being separated in the census?  (BTC Edition C and BTC Edition D)

  3. Here is what I was told:

I've looked into it and here's what the story is-

Both books appear to be identical front-and-back, with the exception being that one of them is embossed. When the graders get a copy of the book and they see the image on their computer screen of what the book is supposed to look like, it appears to be the same. To further complicate the issue, both books have the same UPC code (which the graders often use as a failsafe to ensure they have the correct variant) on the back cover.  So there was no indication for us previously that there were 2 identical-appearing versions.

Both books state that they are Big Time Collectibles exclusives, but neither one states that they are exclusive to any convention.  So while the "flat cover" version is labeled in our database as "Big Time Collectibles Edition C", I have now added the embossed version, and it will be named "Big Time Collectibles Edition D".  So from this point forward the two versions will be labeled as such by CGC.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I hope that this satisfies everyone.

@CGC Mike Sorry to tag you on this, but it looks like you have all the answers here! Hoping you could help with my questions.

    From a senior grader:

the book exhibited signs of cleaning based on the whiteness of the cover/pages and the texture and smell of the paper. There may have been a couple of other indicators as well.

  5. @Okguy  Going forward, I do not want to see this kind of behavior.  nearmint's post was not out of line.  A correction was in order, as there is a very big difference between a collection and a pedigree designation.  Other posters were only trying to explain the difference and help you out.  In return, you made snide remarks.  Consider this a notice without the paperwork.  If it happens again, it will result in posting restrictions and possible ban from certain forums.

  6. Here is what I was told:

what I’m seeing is a marvel chip out of the right corner of the purple subby box, and the long chip below that is actually a marvel tear. That paper was always present but was pressed flat. The interior pages fan out a bit to the right, likely from pressing the book flat. The image makes everything look white and blended together, but I think it looks the same after grading as it did before pressing.

Nothing here seems out of place. Several of the high value team graded this book, so I doubt we missed anything.

@CGC Mike Can you help provide some direction about what needs to be done here, because customer service is clearly confused. These are two distinct variants -- see the back covers in the high res scans. There's never been a requirement that variants somehow have to have unique indicia in order to be categorized separately. Indeed, the overwhelming majority do not!

I will e-mail the database specialist, and someone from management, and see if we can get this straightened out.  @forbiddenwon

Hi my order was sent to the USPS po box location that was provided but it now is saying it avaliable for puck up so what should I do?

    Hi

You do not need to do anything.  USPS delivers all of our packages to us.  We do not ever go to the PO, FedEx or UPS to pick up packages.  After we receive a package, I believe it takes about a week or so for a submission to get entered into our system.

    Hello,

Bumping this because I recently submitted under my membership tier and should have received a $150 credit but didn't. I submitted an order containing one vintage comic for grading, and several modern comics for pressing/grading. The vintage comic has already charged me $86.40. Per the FAQ:

Since it should be automatically applied until exhausted, I'm wondering why I was charged the full amount for the first item (the others have not billed yet since they're awaiting pressing).

I've emailed the customer service email but I'd rather not wait the 10-14 days it normally takes to get a response (in my previous experience) to find out what's going on.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Charles

might as well have no interaction with the client service team.

submitted a foreign DD#1 1967 (as stated on front cover)

when received by CGC - they change that to 1992.

when bringing this to the attention of cgc - no worries - will fix it as part of grading.

did it get fixed - no

got a reholder voucher which is unusable

This can be sent in as a mechanical error under label defect.  Unfortunately, the OSF will not sent a prepaid shipping label to customers outside of the US.  If you PM me your submission number, customer id number, and full name and address, I can get you a prepaid shipping label.  The label will be fixed and sent back to you at no charge.

Does this mean you found out why you owe $40 extra and are okay with it?

We do not let submissions out the door until the fees are paid in full.  If there is a balance due, a shipping hold is placed on the submission.  I do not know why he received that invoice but, I do know he does not owe us any money.
