  1. Hello These are pretty large so, I think it would be considered Printer Hickeys error, and get a mention on the label. Mike
  2. Hello I do not think this would qualify for any error designation. Mike
  3. Hello The largest difference will be the outside border. You should try your best to identify them based on the below information. Also, I believe the card name is further to the left on Unlimited. If there are any errors, our verification team will correct them.
  4. Thanks for the examples. I did sent the QC manager examples for this type of problem but, just sent these along with a screenshot to show they were recently graded, and all 3 were from the same submission.
  5. Hello We would need to receive it 30 days before the release date. I don't believe it is listed in the error guide so, I would write in large print "Early Release" on the submission form. Here is what we have about this on our website. Occasionally, cards are inadvertently released before intended. For example, many people reported finding 2021 French Pokémon McDonald's promo cards in their Vivid Voltage Build and Battle Boxes, which were released in November of 2020. These cards, if delivered to CGC at least 30 days before the initial release date, are eligible for the "Inadvertent Early Release" designation on the label. Mike
  6. I am not sure if that is or is not a correct statement that we are not grading any books in the economy tier. From what I have been told, it will be a few weeks before we are gaining on TAT's for that tier.
  7. For question #1, I believe the answer is 2 weeks, and you have to be the original submitter. For question #2, situation like this are handled on a case by case basis. You would need to e-mail us a service@cgccomics.com and post an image and your reason for wanting the book reholdered. A decision will be made if we will or will not reholder the book at our expense.
  8. Hello CGC Trading Cards is continuing to conduct extensive research and testing into solutions to safely encapsulated the metal Pokémon Gold cards. All submissions with metal Pokémon Gold cards will be expedited as soon as this solution is in place. If customers do not wish to wait, they can contact Customer Service to have their submission returned. Any metal cards will not be encapsulated and the grading fees will be fully refunded. We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate everyone’s patience while we work on the best long-term encapsulation solution for these metal cards. Mike
  9. Unfortunately, I think it will be a few more weeks before we see any change on Economy. Sorry.
  10. I am not going to address past procedures. I will say that all examples that I could find of different problems, including the Spawn #1 were addressed. Actually, there were 3 examples presented for books upside down in the slab. QC/encapsulation will attend weekly meetings. They will be shown all of these examples, and have continual, visual access to them. At least 2 more specialists that have extensive comic knowledge were recently hired. I also stressed the fact that customers want a nice looking slab that isn't full of scuffs, newton rings etc... The manager is addressing every one of the issues I presented to him. Furthermore, him and I will keep in touch to fine tune things. That's all I have for now, and won't be answering any questions.
  11. So, I had a really nice meeting with the new quality control manager today. I started grabbing examples from this thread the first part of December, (I went back to around July of 2021) and grabbed more 2 other times from then to the present date. These were all sent to the new manager, and we discussed them today, along with ways to improve QC in a big way. I walked away from the conversation with a real good feeling. We will be keeping in touch with each other to fine tune protocols. Many changes are already underway, and I expect to see major improvements regarding this soon.

  13. Hello You would do it just like you would if it was an ungraded card. (select a grading tier etc...) You can send it in it's slab, and we will crack it out for you or, you can do that yourself. Mike
  14. The way it reads now, detached covers will no longer be listed on the label.
  15. As Matt mentioned in a follow up post I made, Centerfolds detached below 5.5 will no longer be listed on the label.
  16. We guarantee that the card is not over-graded so, the grade will not go down. I do not believe there is an option to regrade only if the grade will go up, because we would need to crack the card out of the slab and examine it. We would not be able to tell if the grade will go up just by looking at it through the slab. Mike
  17. We are still identifying all missing parts from the interior like we have before.
  18. We want to provide insight into our decision to remove certain defects from the label text. To begin with, there are over 100 different defects that can be present on a comic; most of them are not disclosed on the label, including many that are not visible on a comic through the holder. Removing certain defects from our label is not unprecedented. Over the years we have included (and eventually removed) the following defects on the label, many of which affect a comic’s interior and often impact grade: Rusty staples Interior tears Stamp on cover Writing on cover or interior Manufactured with only one staple Centerfolds detached below 5.5 Marvel chipping Heavy tanning interior cover Partial staple detachments Interior stains Interior pieces missing that do not affect story/ad Tape stains Among the 12 additional defects we are removing, eight of them (and sometimes all but Siamese pages) are visible when viewing a comic book in the holder. Some rarely turn up, particularly Siamese pages, lamination and miscuts. The vast majority of books that exhibit these defects are Golden and Silver Age comics. Oftentimes, some of these defects are slightly less severe but do not go on the label. Such as a spine that is 98% split. If a spine was still attached in one area, no matter how small it was, we did not put it on the label. This is also true if a cover was detached from one staple and barely hanging on to the other staple; virtually detached, but not 100%. We only listed missing parts from a cover if it was one piece that constituted 1/3 or more of the cover; even if paper missing from several areas of the cover cumulatively totaled more than 1/3, that wouldn’t go on the label. If Siamese pages are torn apart, that is not mentioned on the label. Some say they now have to check notes on every comic book before they buy. We recognize that many collectors hate certain defects. But those defects can vary from collector to collector, and many of those defects are among the 100 that weren’t listed on our label before this change. All defects, regardless of whether they are listed on our label or not, are factored into every grade. The defects that have been removed from the label will continue to be listed in the grader notes. If a book does not appear to match the grade it has been given, that would give reason to check the grader notes. We are working on implementing a QR code on the label to ease the process of note checking. To be clear, no changes have been made to qualified, restored or conserved label text. That remains exactly the same, and we have no intention of changing that. Matt Nelson
  19. Keep in mind this was a CCG announcement. Also, I have already mentioned that the manager will have to go to the root of the problem to correct the errors we have been seeing happen with comics. Here are the other companies.
  20. I have e-mailed Matt about this, and he has contacted the group to correct this. Hopefully, they get it fixed ASAP.
  21. "Whining"? Did I hit a nerve with my questioning to uncover the truth? Enough back and forth between the 2 of you. Nothing positive is to be gained from this.
  22. Hello E-mail pictures and explain the problem to Service@CGCcards.com If it is determined that the scuffs are bad enough, we will reholder the card at no expense to you. Customer service will sent you a shipping label, and give you instructions how to submit it to CGC. Mike
  23. Hello I believe they will appear for you all at once. Mike
  24. Yes but, I am not going to. Sorry. I appreciate all of the kind words, though.
