This past July, a huge change (for me especially) was made that allows board members with long-running sales threads to be able to edit listings after being posted for one year.  I've been working on a CA/MA sales thread since July 2020...long after changes were made that limited people to just one year.  I actually made a few posts about it, shared my displeasure, threatened to quit (in my mind)...then it was fixed.  Trying to sell off most of my collection, I wasn't interested in rushing it.  Plus, I wasn't aware of the Envision update in 2016/17 that limited editing after a year (from date of post).  I only figured it out when I couldn't edit the topic, which changes monthly when I'm going to add new stuff.

I don't know who initiated the fix, but after about a week...all good.  I appreciate that change for sure.  I'm even up to letter 'S' in my collection for listings!!!  Hopefully, it won't take until next July to finish.  Kudos to the boards powers-that-be!!! 

Okay, you may return to your regularly scheduled shenanigans. 

I changed it to unlimited but, I believe that means only 2 years.  Why, I have no idea.

Well, others are having trouble sending PM's.  Someone tried to send me 3, and none of them went through.

That's a fair note. The banning that has been mentioned was also a matter of protecting the community from harassment (or worse).

As a rule, I would not like CGC to dictate what I say or do outside of the forums. As with most rules, I am certainly open to exceptions. I'm not sure that telling us to not discuss others elsewhere is a good idea, so long as nobody is doxxing or being realistically malicious. The 'line' not to cross may be different for each person.

Moderation has nothing to do with the probation list.  That is the difference 

CGC has no control of anything that is posted on another forum.  I do know that management doesn't even want discussions from other forums brought up here.  Warnings were issued by admins in the past for these kinds of discussions.  So, lets drop this subject now.

Are you referring to the first post of this thread?  If so, that has already happened for the most part.  As far as all of the problems with the boards, I have just created a thread and organized all the problems in separate posts,  which include members posts.  That was sent to management today.

A 100% effective Block/Ignore feature!

One that also hides quoted posts so they are not seen by users that have people on ignore.  The mention and reaction feature should not be shown, if someone has that person on ignore.

I think the Achievements box in profiles can be removed.  It currently has no purpose.  

The 'Achievements' functionality is redundant as:

1. Custom Titles are not reflected / the associated numbering in brackets (e.g. 20/20) does not relate to anything tangible
2. 'Community Answers' relate to historic board activity which is no longer visible (locked by Scott). There are no forums currently that allow posts to be 'upvoted' as a best answer, rendering the data meaningless

This can therefore be removed. 

Here's 2 issues regarding the PM feature.

Agreed, that has caused me issues and is a post upgrade quirk - we used to be able to do it. 

The Google search IS NOT working properly.  We do have a very tech savvy board member, and I will post his suggestion for a fix first, followed by other posts he has made on the subject.  (The other posts were made prior to this first one)'

I still recommend they remove that entry from the robots.txt file. Google will not re-index those URLs since it has been instructed to not do so by that file. This will help speed up the re-index process IMO. 

Searching for cgc comics mylar guide still shows the old URL with no page information. Once they do Google will likely start to "find" the new URLs. Also, the tech team should make sure that the redirects from www.cgccomics.com/boards to boards.cgccomics.com are set-up as a 301. They should understand what I mean by that but this URL is a good point of reference.

Several people have reached out to me saying that their PM's aren't going through.

I've had pms that I've submitted a post, and it would show up on my end but not on the other person's page. They would quote my submitted post and say there was no text, while on my page I could see text but not in the quote  

SO I took a screenshot of how it showed up on my end, and they "confirmed" that it was not showing up on their page  

As you mentioned, I had several times when I would type a PM (some long ones) and then when I hit "submit reply" the entire PM would disappear.  It would not just "not send", but would actually erase everything I had written. This happened several times, however, it has not occurred in the past week.  So I am hopeful this has been resolved. 

There used to be a feature in the selling forum.  It was called Mark as sold/mark as unsold.  It would pop up in the upper right corner of the screen, and is only visible to the seller. (Original poster)  People that had for sale threads, could hit the (mark as sold) button, and the their thread would automatically lock.  If they wanted to add more books, they could click it again (mark as unsold).  This disappeared about 4 months ago with one of the forum upgrades.  

Here is how you find it in the AdminCP:

Mark as sold is the 5th item on the list.

I checked, and all of the correct forums are checked.  Also, it is showing green (enabled)  I am not sure how to fix it.  Maybe it needs to be re-ordered from Invision?  I did a test thread, and it doesn't work.

At the top right of the page, there is a Journals tab with a drop down menu.  The choices are My Journal or All Journals.  When you click on My Journal, it takes you to all of the journals.  I did a test Journal, and it took me 15 minutes to find it.

You're welcome Oak. If I've overstepped the mark by suggesting we won't be moderated to the point of extinction, and that all that was being asked for today was for some people to show some reasonable restraint, I'm sure Mike will put me straight. 

In the last 3 weeks, I believe I have issued 2 warnings for posting guidelines and politics.  Before I took over and we marked many things under review, there were about a dozen a week handed out.  So, I don't think people have been moderated to the point of extinction lately.

My post wasn't just about Kav.  He wasn't the person that used it 15 times in 2 days.

If everyone take into consideration with what I have said, and stop using it  ALL THE TIME, I won't put the phrase on the spoon list.  I don't think it's too much to ask.
