oh I see..my bad...GPA comics has one sale of it for 200 in Jan, 2023
Interesting... I really need to get a GPA account because I don't see that sale anywhere else. Thanks for the info!

I'm thinking about doing just that. I've had one inquiry so far and I sent him my asking price. We'll see if he accepts. If he doesn't I'll probably just put it on Mycomic shop. I already have a copy of the direct edition for the P.C. Thanks for the feedback fellas!

last sale on GPA comics was 45. You cant necessarily project FMV from sales years ago.
This is the 'trendline' for sales of this issue..the rise in 2021 was due to the pandemic , in which most collectibles rose in price due to overinflated demand. But like most comics the bubble burst as the pandemic ended. If you go to gocollect, you can see an auction for 100 in sept 2023 and then an auction for 45 in dec 2023 (not a good sign) If you follow a statiscal trendline from 2021 and on (a downward sloping line) ..you probably have your asking price between 50 and 75 ...but you can ask anything you want and go into negotation..just dont be surprised if someone wont pay more than 50 for it.
Those sales are for different versions of the same book. I'm taking into account the 2021 Covid bump, but the previous sale for a 9.6 version of the book I'm talking about was several years prior to that. There aren't a lot of sales for this book because there aren't a lot of copies of this book out there. There's a 9.2 of this version of the book on sale on Mycomicshop for $64.00 right now.

This was the ebay sale for the non-multipack version per my above reply.
Ah i see... I initially thought you were talking about the Zero Hour variant... my bad.
-
Well I already got a message from someone interested in buying it but I didn't know what to price it at and told him I would get back to him. @DougC where are you seeing those sales? According to Covrprice the last sale for the Zero Hour logo variant was in 2019 for 100 bucks. I don't even see any sales for the 9.8. Were those sales you quoted for the direct edition? When I checked the CGC Census there were only 14 9.8's on there for the Zero Hour logo edition (multipack) on there.
-
Yeah I saw that a 9.6 went for $100 in 2019. So I'm thinking $150-$200?
-
Thanks for moving it. Wasn't sure where to pose the question.

Hey guys I have a question... I just got a book back from CGC yesterday that doesn't have too many previous sales and I want to figure out how to price it. The previous sale for the book was a 9.6 in 2019 for $100.00. I have the book in a 9.8. How would you guys price the book?

These that I list are just my books consigned in the auction. On the loose, raw books I find sometimes they are very tough on some and loose on others. But for the most part I agree. Some batches are high and then they stick one of my other lower graded books in it and it brings the over all grade of the batch down.
Ah got it. So the batches are graded on average? Quite a few of your books I'm bidding on. I think I may have won that Daredevil batch yesterday. Need to check

I watch Dave's videos on youtube all the time. Glad I saw this thread... went and bidded on a couple of items. Won two and lost two. Some great deals to be had on there. Looking forward to your next auction. I buy raws primarily so hopefully you guys have more raws in the next one. Question... How do you guys grade? Are you "harsh" graders, "loose" graders or about spot on? Just curious.

I recently saw the cover of Avengers Annual #15, and remembered it featured a story by Danny Fingeroth that made no sense whatsoever. I'm surprised someone as savvy as Editor Mark Gruenwald didn't have an issue with it.
Freedom Force - consisting of Mystique, Destiny, Spiral, Blob, Pyro, Avalanche and Spider-Woman - are somehow able to overcome the combined West/East Coast Avengers. The latter consists of:
Captain America, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Hercules, Black Knight, Hawkeye, Mockingbird, Tigra, Wonder Man, Iron Man and Henry Pym.
It was a total nonsense - half the Annual is an irrelevant baseball game, then the Assemblers argue in comical fashion about the merits of going with Freedom Force and then just stand around do nothing when attacked. The latter also made no sense (eg. Spider-Woman could NOT knock Wonder Man out with a wooden pole! He has super-reflexes and could easily dodge, OR just stand there and let it break against his invulnerable skin. Not to mention the fact that Wonder Man wouldn't even feel Spider-Woman's blows, no matter how many she landed...)
So, in addition to highlighting a weak story, here's a solution:
The battle starts. Captain America, having trained both teams for group combat, just says "Plan S (Surprise!)
Captain Marvel flares with a brilliant light and blinds their opponents, while Iron Man emits hypersonic frequencies to deafen them. Simultaneously, Hawkeye fires gas arrows as Hercules pounds the ground Hulk-style and knocks FF off their feet.
Wasp ploughs through with bio-blasts, followed by Wonder Man, who can knock out most of the team with light taps.
Henry Pym produces and expands steel nets, which Mockingbird, Tigra and Captain America throw over their foes with efficiency.
Black Knight is on standby with his enchanted sword to deflect any attacks directed at the team, and waves it with intent at the Blob, stating if he attempts to rise the blade will cut him.
All over in about 30 seconds flat.
Anyone else care to highlight another story that was mishandled?
Yeah I remember reading this as a kid and truly didn't understand how Freedom force was ever a threat for ONE Avengers team let alone TWO. I get that it served a narrative purpose... just didn't make much sense at all.
90% of the times Batman beats Superman makes zero sense at all. besides being Superstrong and invulnerable, the guy can literally move at the speed of thought. If he really wanted to, he could counter any "planning" Bruce could come up with with ease.

Just curious after seeing your post about the size of your collection. You said according to your app you had about 17,300 books, which is a *lot*. That's approaching 60 longboxes. The amount of runs you've completed seems really low for that many comics. Was the total possibly a typo or do you have thousands of random issues?
Well I did say "off the top of my head". I'm sure I have more complete runs than the two I listed if I think about it really hard. I also have a lot of series that are missing a couple of issues. For instance, at one point I had The entire run of Warren Ellis' Planetary including the few spinoffs to the series. While inventorying my collection last year, I discovered that I'm missing a couple of boxes of comics and a LOT of keys were in those boxes including Planetary issues 1-4 and 21. So i no longer have that complete run. Same for the Authority. I had that entire series as well only to discover that issues 1-6 are missing. Now if were talking complete runs by specific creative groups, I have a TON of those... Bendis and Malev's Daredevil run for instance. Morrison and Lee's Batman run, Snyder and Capullo's Batman run, Simonson's Thor run (really love that one) etc. I just bought Sienkewicz entire New Mutants run from someone here on the boards I believe... so yeah, I have quite a few runs... I'll add more as they come to me.

Hey guys I've been a member for awhile and have interacted with a couple of members here and bought some books but never formally introduced myself. Been collecting since the early 80's ever since my stepfather introduced me to comics shortly after marrying my mom. Never took a break from collecting except for a couple of years in the 90's when I was a broke college student. Currently looking to distil my collection of over 17,000 comics down to specific keys and runs. Glad to be among like minded collectors.

Off the top of my head, I have every issue of Ultimate Spiderman Vol.1 and Every issue of The Boys including the various spinoffs. I collected those as they were published. Last year I finished three series that I had long wanted, Wolverine limited series Vol.1, The Punisher Limited Series Vol.1 and The Dark Knight Returns... working on Watchmen right now.

G.I Joe and the Transformers #1 and #2 (direct). These are part of a 4-issue limited series. Power Station Alpha debuts in issue #1.
I prefer to sell these two comics as a set, but PM me if there's only interest in one comic.
VF, or better; cream to off-white pages. Both comics are in pretty good shape, without any spine creases/ticks that I can see. The first issue shows a few spots of very light ink rubs along the spine. Both comics will benefit from a press.
$15 (for the set)
