There is also a thick gloss that scuffed easily, I mean very easily, the spine feathered which means it kinda splintered and colors flaked off. Also on a good percentage of the print run there is a factory color breaking crease right in the center of the cover. Ouch

The ant problems I have seen in the midwest. The ants live outside in a nest, often in a tree or under ground. They find a way into the home through the foundation area. They then repeat the trail with the rest of the ants as they find food in the home. They carry the food back outside to the nest. So you should put a granular pesticide around the home as they will not want to cross the poison line. I can see a problem of trapping them in the home, maybe try this at night while they are sleeping. If you are not sure they sleep at night, maybe write a note and see if they can give you a specific answer, good luck

The Tundra was a reprint of the original material. Only Tundra issue #3 has new material, which was the unprinted The Crow 5. I was not aware of this If you ever get the chance to read Caliber Presents 15, that was the preview material for The Crow #5, but then Caliber went bust. So that material didn't show up for a few years, and was included in the Tundra #3 issue. Maybe if you stayed on the forums a little bit more you'd learn more about this fascinating hobby ''Top''. This book is easy on the eyes in 9.8, one of the biggest Modern keys, great job!!

I remember talking to a collector in 1996, he paid $1,000 for a NM Fantastic Four #1, and $800.00 for a NM Green Lantern #1 out of the comic buyers guide in around 1982-1984 or so if I can remember. They were from a high grade collection that surfaced. He was practically laughed into the nut hut by his family and friends. Who would pay 1 grand for a dumb comic book. Assuming the grades remotely held up, that would of been a very, very good investment.

This book is just cool. This is the first copy in 9.8 This is also the first certified copy in 9.8.

I'm prepping myself for San Diego next month. I'm going to be looking at alot of early Bronze and Silver. Is there any battery operated hand held light I can keep in my bag that could help me spot color touch. Looking at a books with poor convention lighting for me is a little spooky on a valuable book. I was thinking of just waving a light wand over the book to see if any color touch would jump out. Any help is appreciated.

Why would someone deslab a 9.8 of this book? A reading copy can be bought for under $10.00 at any time.

I know where 3 out of the 4 Joe 21 9.8 copies in 9.8 are at, the only one is the sale from 2006 for 860.00 is the one I do not know.

My 9.6 white pages now looks like a bargain.

Welcome to the boards James. There was not a recorded sale in 2008 on that book, in 2006 a copy sold for $860.00.

The problem with this book is the black back cover has color breaks, the white front cover is not the problem. I have only had one in 9.8 and a few in 9.6, looked at alot of books that appeared high grade until I took it out of the bag and board and cringed when I looked at the back cover spine. This is a legitimate collectors book in 9.8 and well worth the price as many people just put together sets of the McFarlane run. Good luck with the sale!!

Ask him the reason why he did not submit the book to get CGC'd, or look around to see if you see other books that are certified. The book may of failed the prescreen so he is selling it raw for a higher price because he knows the value is 9.8 or bust, so thats his way of maximizing his sales.

No because its not graded, its just another nice raw copy. If its a 9.6 than its worth around $50.00. If he really thought it was that nice, he would just submit it himself and make an additional profit.

The first comic I remember buying new on the rack back in 1981. My original copy is a little rough. I hunted this gem down at San Diego this year, I believe it was the A-1 comics booth. Got it signed in NY last month, just got back today. Its a keeper for me.
