Is something going on with the Post Office?
Topnotchman replied to Jesse-Lee's topic in Comics General
When they fill containers full of packages. They scan the container and that triggers a tracking update. When you see ping pong of tracking going back and forth. It’s possible your tracking is still attached to the container yet it’s not in the container any longer. They also have been consolidating sorting centers here in fly over country, moving more mail to bigger facilities that are already short staffed. Shoving more mail into buildings that are stuffed to the rafters to the point of it’s stored outside in mail truck trailers. -
Trimmed edge or a slice?
Topnotchman replied to Koopakidd11's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
If it were a high grade copy it would probably get a trimmed label, a low grade copy it will probably be factored into the grade as damage. Although I have never submitted a book with this flaw, I would just factor the damage into the grade. -

The Nanometer Crunch !!!!
Topnotchman replied to Ed Hanes's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
If one were to quick press a cover and not the pages of the entire book. A crunch could still be present as a defect upon inspection by opening the book. -
The Nanometer Crunch !!!!
Topnotchman replied to Ed Hanes's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
I don’t see any damage in the image, but a crunch would be a corner impact affecting the pages and possibly the cover at the same time. This is typically fixable with pressing. -

This book is easy on the eyes and is one of the most difficult to find in 9.8 grade. I rank this book as my personal top tier Dave Stevens cover.

Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
Topnotchman replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
By my own submissions, I think the Dave Stevens books for the most part are easy to find in 9.8 grade raw. I've had all the mainstream books in 9.8 with most in the 5-10 copies per book range. Except for one book, Jungle Comics #1 I've only found one copy in 9.8 grade. Very soft inks and a brutal back cover to keep in grade. -
