Just picked up from Roy at Vintage Comics.

Dang, how many 49ers fans are there in this thread? Growing up outside of Cincinnati, my whole family loved the Bengals so I grew up a 49ers fan to go against everyone.
49ers looking amazing this year. Can't wait to see them play against the Packers in the playoffs.
To stay on topic, go Glenn. Nice kill.
The 49ers defense and special teams has carried the team this far. We need an offense and it starts with Alex Smith. Sure, he has his good days but he's very inconsistent. He'd make a good backup, but we need an A list quarterback to be a true powerhouse.

A chance of winning the worst division in football!!
Actually, the NFC West is the worst division in football.
The 49ers are an NFC West team.
Yeah, we're going to the playoffs.

Jurisdictional question:
If the offense that we are seeking to place Trey on the probation list for is the one of selling a PGX book in the first place isn't that a violation of the forum TOS, and isn't this a Moderator issue, with Moderator level remedies (strikes, suspensions, listing in a permanent strike record, etc.)??
If the offense that we are seeking to place Trey on the probation list for is one of lying about selling a PGX slab and pimping for feedback the buyer didn't want to give then shouldn't we drop all the discussion of the sale of a PGX slab and get down to the meat of the honesty, or lack thereof, on Trey's part?
It's an important distinction. The probation list isn't here to punish violations of the term of service or general board guidelines. Otherwise we should be listing every shill, every masker, every guy who lists political items because they are all violations of board rules. We are heading down the wrong road if we don't follow our own rules.
PGX slabs are not supposed to be sold here. That's an Administrative rule.
There is nothing inherently wrong about selling a book inside a PGX slab that would land the person on the probation list, unless it involves dishonesty in the transaction. The only reason we are talking about PGX slabs in the first place is because the Mods have noted that they cannot be sold here and have enacted their own remedies to handle that situation. There's a process already in place that doesn't require the probation list to punish the action.
I see the probation list's power in listing transactions gone bad from dishonesty, or failure to perform property, but I am not seeing it as a redundant enforcement arm of the Administrations rules and regs.
I hope that made sense. Too many people are stuck on the fact that it's a PGX slab and we aren't getting down to the meat of the discussion and frankly, people jumping the gun to add him to the list are undermining whatever credibility the list has. I think the torches will keep burning just fine while the, carefully set up, due process completes itself.
That makes perfect sense and I agree 100%
The probation list is supposed to be a protective measure for buyers and sellers. Being on the naughty list is like having a bad line of CGC forum credit. You have bad credit so people won't deal with you.
If someone sells or attempts to sell PGX books and are upfront about it, that doesn't deserve "bad credit." It's a violation of the site rules and it's a matter for the administrators and moderators.
But if there was dishonesty involved then that's a credibility issue.

It was actually a pretty tough moment for me. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry for the guy.
Easy choice. You cry if it was your money and you laugh if it happened to someone else.

I need to get a scanner, but this just came in. The thing I love about Frank Miller's signature is how neat and legible it is! (thumbs u

It sort of took away from the fact that they were searching for Sophia for the 25th straight episode.
+!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember reading someone else on the board tslking acout the same thing, fireproofing chemicals of gun safes causing staples to rust.
I too would like clarification on this. I'm also wondering if safety deposit boxes have issues, since that's where I keep my expensive coins and comics.

Buncha tea party bullies!

And by killing off "main" characters like they did in the books it becomes an innovative TV show, and successful.
I agree. The way the comic does it is they introduce new characters for you to get attached to to replace the dead ones.
Also,
PENlS!!

I'm in agreement with those who want to see Rick become more like he is in the comic, and more like Shane is in the movie. I want to see him make those tough, brutal desperate decisions.
The only problem with getting Rick to that point is he hasn't had all those negative revelations and events come up as he has in the comic.
He doesn't know about Shane/Lori yet, doesn't know about Judi yet, hasn't had that confrontation with Shane yet....TV Rick still believes his family can come through this as a family, together and unchanged. He doesn't know it's already too late.
That's a very good point. I would think after a full season and a couple episodes he would already start being developed in that direction. Think they'll kill his wife off in the movie too?

Don't say anymore. Not caught up yet in the comic. Have so much to go. I left off at issue #35 or something.
You should get caught up. The trade paperbacks are available on Amazon for $8.23 per issue.

Besides, I'm totally convinced she'll reappear when she attempts to make herself a Grimes sandwich.

Big kudos to Mr Mylar for some outstanding sketch ops. Another big kudos to the whole CGC staff at NYCC. It was crazy busy and you could smell the stress, but they stayed professional and made sh*t happen.

A wonderfully observant critique! Still, he left out a final verdict. Two and a half stars? Thumbs up?
All in all I still found it very enjoyable, if imperfect.

Its ashame that people can't take the time to really look into something. Zombies are the backdrop...they sit in the background where they belong for a reason.
IMHO, this story is about humanity, and how it all goes to when structure and order are removed...how people deal with tragedy and loss and change as the world they know around them disappears. The show isn't about zombies...its about basic human survival.
I think its one of the reasons why the comic book is done in black and white...no color allows the reader to focus on the story and characters, not the blood and guts of it all. Anyone who takes the time to truly grasp this will love what Kirkman and his crew are doing. I LOVED the fact that we didn't see a zombie in this episode until right at the end...that makes me feel like the show is heading in the same direction as the comic...not about zombies, about human struggle and survival.
I enjoyed episode 2 a lot.
Well said.
They do a really good job portraying humanity. Like Rick's best friend, for example. He's not (all bad). He's done some bad things, even thought about whacking Rick. But he's also really being there for him in his time of need, and risking his life to extremes trying to save Carl.
Hero or villain? He's neither, and both. He could be chocked up to being a generally good guy who's been pushed over the edge by the world falling apart.
-
I feel like they are spending to much time on this carl deal, but there may be a reason that I don't know about yet.
I'm betting he is revived in the next episode, but by the time they find that girl they have to hit her over the head - and it's all dramatic and emotional.

This is the next club I really wish to join! Probably in a couple months I'll be looking, if any of you will be seeking an upgrade by then.
X-Men 1 isn't overlooked, but it is underrated. FF kick started the Marvel Universe, but it's hard to argue against the X-Men for having shaped it like no other comic.
-
i tivo'd the first episode, but the reviews have been so horrible i haven't even bothered to watch yet. not sure if i want to now.
Don't pay so much attention to the reviews whether good or bad. Watch it and judge for yourself. The show rocks IMO.
This!
Even my wife likes it, and she's not at all into zombie movies.

and before you ask..I do have a crystal ball
Season two ends like the 2nd tpb
Michonne enters third season around episode 3
Merel aka the governor enters towards the middle of season 3
end season 3 with them escaping the town of Woodbery
No way they ever cut Ricks hand off or do what happens to Michonne by the governor in the book.
I thought Kirkman said he planned to run off in totally different directions from the comic, so that fans don't know what's going to happen next.

I'm hoping some FF guys can answer this. Why is Fantastic Four 1 so much more expensive than X-men 1? It's not much older and X-men is far more popular.
