  1. Someone once said on here (very recently) that "almost any AF 15 is worth it to send in to CGC to get graded". My question then is, even one as poor as this, with possible resto? There's some "good" to this book, but there's a lot of "bad" too which I will describe. The GOOD: The book is complete, not missing any pages, nothing clipped; the pages are actually pretty nice and supple. The cover is mostly there. The BAD: The obvious corner missing, lower-left. Tape along the binding and tape along the right-edge, FC. Staples have been replaced on the centerfold.
  2. Wow, even with the bend along the right edge?
  3. The book has excellent gloss to the covers with very little wear. There is slight stress marks at each end of the top staple, and a slight "bend" (I wouldn't call it a crease) along the upper-right edge, FC (4th pic). The pages are white to OW. The strange thing with this book is the blue ink on all the edges of the pages. Printing defect maybe? Would this detract from the grade? Thank you, I look forward to your responses!
  4. Ha, I agree! I like my space a lot, but this...clean, well organized, and those statues!
  5. I explained I made an error and apologized for that error. Sometimes people make mistakes, and this was mine. Again, my apologies.
  6. Hello, I hate to part with these, but looking at either starting a Golden-Age Sub-Mariner collection, or save up for a low grade AF15! Figured I will start here before resorting to eBay and their fees. Please PM me with any questions you may have and thank you. Avengers #2, 5.0 - $450 Avengers #3, 3.5 - $175 Avengers #5, 4.0 - $125 ASM #8, 4.5 - $450 ASM #9, 4.0 - $525 UXM #101, 7.0 - $350 UXM #135, 7.0 - $80
  7. Good morning all. I have been thinking about starting to collect Golden Age Sub-Mariner comics. Of course there's always eBay, but curious if you all can recommend a good, reputable online shop with reasonable prices? I would rather give my hard earned bucks to an online shop then eBay if I have a choice. Thank you!
  8. Wow...just WOW! Extremely impressed by the the last two posts, very well done indeed! Very pristine look.
  9. Not in to toys a whole lot, but purchased an action figure collection from someone locally mainly for resale as I got a good deal. As I search through the collection, ran across this baby; I had no idea what i had until a guy on a Facebook group I belong to pointed it put. Pretty cool!
  10. Thanks, me too. Coke came out with three of them: this, Amazing Spiderman and the Fantastic Four. Still looking for the FF...
  11. Wanted to share my latest addition to The Cave.
  12. A couple new additions to The Cave that I'm happy with. A double sided Superman The Legend Returns poster depicting Cleveland in the background from 1988. A "Spider-Man" wall which I never intended to have, but somehow it just kind of grew into that.
  13. Thank you. I know someone that does custom matte cutting, he has his own shop; best of all, he did it free as a birthday present!
  14. Not really my "comic room" per se, but hanging on the wall of the room. My new addition: 1978 Marvel postcards. Hard to tell from the pic, but quite a large piece at 27 x 40. Love the colors!
  15. Thank you, it should. I'm not adding quantity to my collection, just quality, so I'm good to go on that front. My only worry is wall space!
  16. I have posted on this thread before, but recently moved in to a bigger house, and lo and behold, my wife said I can have the ENTIRE basement! So I'm only taking 3/4 of it, lol. Some action figures purely for decorative purposes, some comics of course, but the things I most enjoy is spinner rack and the art/posters on the wall!
  17. These measure 8 3/4" by 14" and are on heavy stock (kind of like a high grade construction paper). I have done numerous Google searches: William Black, Paragon Publishing, Fem Forever, combinations of the above...nothing but 1 mention on comic vine with no information. Any insight you may have on these would be very much appreciated. Where did they come from (I'm thinking maybe a convention?), are there comics tied to these, etc.
  18. Thank you 1Cool, that's a great start, as I didn't even know they were originally in the comic books!
