  1. I think that is certainly a factor. If that's the cover to Strange Tales #110, you can bet it would be +50% or more...
  2. I'd love to see that story...but they need to develop the relationship between Sif and Thor a bit prior to that happening. Thor 3 maybe?
  3. Sold off my mega keys a few years ago to pay for a pool…then couldn’t stand it so I got coverless copies on the cheap and Fedoraman covers. Just got this one back from CGC…
  4. So they're charging you the Walkthrough price...and you don't benefit from the Walkthrough service and turnaround time? If so, that's a verrrrrrry shady business practice.
  5. PSA (sports cards) stopped taking submissions for like 6-months to get their ship straight and still haven't turned on several tiers. CGC needs to shut it down. They're doing more long-term damage to their business than shutting down submissions for 3-months and getting things straight would do. Losing books, ridiculous turnaround times...shut it down for 3-months, get caught up, sort out the mess in the warehouse, then come back.
  6. I like that line of thinking. Yes, ASM #1 is expensive, but I wouldn't have it in the Top 10 most influential.
  7. Agree. Remove price as the main indicator as scarcity (see TTA 27) and other variables come in to play too much. When I think about important keys of characters we know and love today, I think a few have changed from the original 2014 lists. +++ Strange Tales #110 (1sr Doctor Strange) - This book was a solid C-level key along with Daredevil #1 back then. + Fantastic Four #52 (1st Black Panther)…Wakanda forever. ‘Nuff said. - Avengers 1 - 2014 wasn’t too long after the first Avengers movie was released. This one has lost some luster since then in favor of a few other risers in my book + Tales to Astonish #35 (1sr Ant-Man) - the first appearance of Ant-Man, not Hank Pym…and I think some collectors have realized that over the past 7 years. His presence on the silver screen has helped quite a bit. ++ Fantastic Four #85 (1st Loki) - was a D-level key back in 2014. Annoying little pest of a brother and mainstay in the universe, but not hugely important. That has obviously changed. I see books like X-Men #1 and Thor #165 gaining strength over the next decade…
  8. I love the bump! Interesting to see the evolution of some of the discussion here. FF52 is now a super key and probably a Top 15 on the list. It was nowhere to be found when this thread was started. Wakanda shows up, Black Panther is a badass and BOOM…heavy hitting SA key. Bump this thread in another 7-8 years and watch what happens to Thor 165 and FF 67… 😉
  9. I’m actually loving this casting. He’s a great actor and he’s really matured…dang good looking guy now. I think he’ll get on the Chris Pratt workout regimen and we’ll all be positively surprised by this one…
  10. Well, here we go with the Warlock books blowing up!!! About time
  11. If you didn't think the crash was near, THIS should convince you. Feels a lot like the late 90's right now. That book is a flip book I believe....2x covers...1 with Shadowhawk and 1 with Prophet. I guess you can request that CGC slab it with the Prophet cover facing front? I've seen both, althrough 90% are with Prophet facing front. If so, I want my Starslayer #2 slabbed with the back cover facing front!!!
  12. I got the same and started freaking out whenever people that sent their books in AFTER I had started showing their submissions as SFG. I called...they couldn't find my 85 books in their warehouse and therefore hadn't entered my submissions. After about 3-4 weeks, and a few separate phone calls, they finally found them and entered the submissions in to their system...THREE MONTHS after they were delivered to their warehouse. Now my "Received date" is way later than it should be because someone lost my boxes. Ridiculous...
  13. Just to catch up...they still aren't caught up. Pandemic checks with nowhere to go cause alot of grading companies (CGC, PSA, WATA) to go nuts with business.
  14. Same exact thing has happened to me. I think they're leaning on "Accounting Holdup" to slow down the process for some. I had 2x Standard invoices that were held up on shipping due to an accounting issue. I cleared that up, then my EXPRESS, which was received at the same time, sat there in G/QC for another month. Finally called yesterday..."Accounting Holdup". They put me on hold, then got back on and said "I'll tell the guys to get this one shipped out". Smells fishy... Still waiting on 8 invoices (~80 books) that were received in early May and then lost in their warehouse for 2x months...
  15. I was under the impression she was off the table due to some legal issues....??
  16. exactly…amazing seeing what some of those quarter bin books are doing these days…
  17. Leave the personal pot shots out of the discussion bud. All of us on the boards are literate and most of us are intelligent.
  18. I’ve liked the Batman movies, but the rest of the movies/series just seem like a mess. No forward planning, nothing seems tied together…just messy. Granted, I don’t watch the tv series, so maybe that’s a missing link, but the movies are missing the mark for me. It feels like Batman, Superman, Harley, wash, rinse, repeat. Meanwhile, Marvel can take no-name characters and make incredible movies or franchises (GotG) out of them…
