  1. It's a pure money grab. They know they can increase the price, still suck on turnaround time and quality assurance, and they won't see any impact to their business other than increased revenue...
  2. Not all of us agree said rules are "the right thing". I think the federal gov should keep their hands out of our pockets as much as possible and spend the money they do take a hell of alot more efficiently. I'd rather handle the stuff you mention locally...not federally.
  3. I sure wish Capra would have started this thread at the beginning of December so I could have watched all of these great movies over the holidays!!
  4. I'm sure it's been said in the prior 10 pages....but CGC REALLY needs to add a tier. "Modern" from 1975-present is silly. If they really want people to cut down on sending in modern as some have speculated, and I don't see why they would want to, then I'd add a BRONZE/COPPER tier...to make it simple, 1975-1995. Anything after 1995-present is "MODERN". Price differently to drive desired behavior....
  5. Agree on Seven. I'm not typically in to those types of movies, but that one was awesome On GoTG, I hate the dance scene with Ronan at the end of the movie...cringy. I'm referring to the Starlord dance scene at the beginning of the movie when he's going to scavenge, kicking the space rats, and Korath stops him. I had just read all of the Annihilation books and was really in to Marvel cosmic stories at the time...seeing Starlord come to life warmed my heart! I had a smile on my face, minus the one 'ugh' with the dance scene at the end, for the entire movie.
  6. These 3 immediately come to mind... The Matrix bullet dodging, then bullet stopping scenes (actually so many in the Matrix!) Seven's 'what's in the box!' scene Starlord's dance scene in GOTG
  7. I really need to watch that movie again! The books were so great, and so different from the movie, that I zoned out when I watched this the first time. If anyone hasn't read the WANTED series, it's awesome. I was actually in Prague on a study abroad when they were filming a portion of this movie. A classmate of mine took a group of us out to this incredible Indian food restaurant for dinner one night. Near the end of our dinner I hear the most distinguished voice, one of my all-time favorites, say "I'll take a Gin & Tonic please"...I immediately turned around...freaking Morgan Freeman sitting at the table next to me!! Awesome experience
  8. A letter? Why not a telegraph? No. Find out where Blackrock's earnings call is, stake out, and protest TATs... ;^)
  9. At least it takes a full year to get that kick in the nuts back… 🤷🏽‍♂️
  10. You mean we can’t event cash cash now?!? W…T….Ffffffffffff……
  11. Great dealing with Aaron! Trusted buyer!
  12. 🤬 I have 85 books that were delivered to the CGC warehouse in early May. After they finally found my 2x lost boxes, they were input as RECEIVED on 8/11/21….34 are MODERN. I’ve received the first batch of 25 but was told I likely haven’t received the other 9 because “they must have been put on another cart during the process. I’ll check in to that”…<crickets> Man this is getting frustrating….
  13. I thought about this just yesterday as I was sorting through some of my comics, getting ready to sell a few. Thought to myself, “my boys aren’t interested in this stuff”. Then thought about when I was growing up and how I felt about dying hobbies like stamp collecting and train sets (zero interest). It’ll happen eventually to our hobby, but this movie business has bought the comics hobby decades!
  14. Screw it…every key I sell comes with a long box of my 1985-1995 baseball cards….that’s a legitimate loss right there! Greg Jeffries and Jerome Walton rookies for er’body!! Seriously though, one of my concerns is the uncertainty around “proof”. Hardly anyone in this hobby, or any hobby for that matter, prints off eBay/CLINK/Heritage wins (“receipts”) or makes a note of off-line transactions that occurred years/decades ago. People keep saying it’s net, not gross, but you may have to prove your cost basis otherwise it’ll be gross 🤮…
  15. Yes. My STANDARD subs that were received 8/11/21 are still sitting in SFG…
  16. Cool, thanks for the purchases. Invoice inbound…
  17. There are some great covers, but agree, they are a lot less prominent. Here are some of my favorite “story-based” covers from the last 30 years….
  18. A few fresh slabs for sale. Let me know if interested…. https://ebay.com/usr/aggiez12
