  1. FWIW, I voted for Ditko and that was it. As for Romita, I didn't like Spider-man run, but not because he was a bad draftsman. He's a perfectly competent artist and told a story well, but (and it's a big but) his PP constantly whined about his life while simultaneously being smarter than almost everyone in the world, more handsome that all but a handful of people, dating three of the best looking women to ever grace a comic (Gwen, MJ, and Felicia) and saving lives left and right. Basically, JR drew the strip so beautifully that I suffered from cognitive dissonance between PP's whining and the life JR showed. Just didn't and don't enjoy it.
  2. I keep a list, but I doubt that I'll get anything on it. They are all stretch goals. Yes, I could save for the year, to get something, but that requires discipline. Comic Books: In the reasonably possible category are: Swanderson Superman page that I really like Aparo B&B page (art and letters by Jim) Steve Ditko Creeper In the Serious Stretch Goals category, we have: Swan/Klein Superman or LSH page Shuster Superman Kirby Thor or New Gods page Marshall Rogers Detective (Batman) page from his wonderful run with Steve Englehart and Terry Austin Sprang Batman Everett Sub-Mariner page Mayer Scribbly page (if there are any) Special cases: The splash to JLA 29 (1st series) or the cover, but I'd prefer the splash. Cover to The Official Legion of Super-Heroes Index #1. The cover to #2 would work, but it's in David Mandel's collection and I doubt that I could pry it loose. Comic Strips: Skippy strip by Percy Crosby Peanuts by Charles Schulz Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson
  3. I wish this was possible. I remember reading in one biography or another that the owner of Quality Comics cut up all of Jack's OA so that the stories could not be reprinted by someone else. It would certainly explain why nothing has turned up.
  4. Me drawn by @Nick Pitarra as part of a wonderful commission he did for my wife to give to me. I later had it digitally colored by Mike Garland Here's the whole thing. Click to get a bigger image.
  5. I thought it was higher, too, but I copied and pasted the list into a file, eliminated the extra stuff, and counted the lines.
  6. I believe that the CAF has about 40,000 accounts; there are 606 Premium members. So, there are a fair number people interested in comic art, I guess, but how many have more than $5M in net assets? Really hard to say. Interesting topic especially if a wealth tax is imposed in the US.
  7. I was curious about how many people that would be. Here's an answer: The Global Rich list site is fascinating; it seems to be supported by Care International.
  8. Re: Unsolicited Offers If I'm not interested in selling, I ask them to leave a comment on the piece saying that they are interested and I'll give them first shot when it's time to sell. Some do it, some don't.
  9. @romitaman, Mike, when you say "drew" do you mean pencils, inks, or both? The claim that I heard referred to both. Whoever it is Jim, Mark, Sal, or someone yet unnamed, it would be an interesting distinction.
  10. Yes, I sent them the link and was told that they were following and trying to fix it.
  11. Everything I have is on the CAF - for my own ease of viewing mostly. I do enjoy writing the Descriptions of why I bought the specific piece though. But then, I don't have anything that would be considered a "major" purchase by most measures.
  12. Yep. Too bad ComicLink and ComicConnect don't do the same.
  13. Here's my Jim Mooney piece. In spoiler tags because it's not Spidey; it is perfect safe for work though.
  14. Yes, it's your civic duty! Voting, too, but CAF first.
  15. I'll bet someone here can verify or factually contradict the following statement that I once read: This is independent of title and whether or not he was the inker or the penciller. Does anyone know if this is a true statement. I can believe it, but ...
  16. A few more commissions. Again, I'm indecisive as to their arch-enemy. Agnes Garbowska - LSH vs. the Fatal Five John Watson - Universo Mike Grell - Mordru
  17. Commissions count? Dr. Strange vs. Baron Mordo and Dormammu. I couldn't pick between them so I got both. Click to see the big picture.
