I recently started using Microsoft Lens as well as CamScanner (I have the pro-version). I think CamScanner does a better job with colors than Microsoft Lens, but I find MS Lens simpler to use especially for exporting images to my Photos archive on my iPhone. It is free without ads. Yes, CamScanner for Android had cyber-security issues (since corrected), but the iOs/iPhone version did not.

I have a TPS from the wonderful book, Huck, by Mark Millar and Rafael Albuquerque. It's quite a tale of a simple farmboy gifted with abilities beyond those of mortal men who spends his days doing good deeds privately until he is outed. I wish there were more. If you would like to take better art pictures on your phone, I can recommend Microsoft Lens (free) and CamScanner (free option). Both will allow you to square the photograph.

Another thought. Contact an artist, e.g., Matthew Clark, about doing a layout that other artists can use to base their contribution. It can make for a more dynamic scene and reduce the time for the artists that are completing it - which might lead to a lower cost per figure. I did this with a Sgt. Rock jam and the figures weren't terribly expensive and everyone praised the layout.

Good point. If the artist is uncomfortable with the lettering part, skip it. You can have it done by a pro later if you wish.

Being in the NYC area back in the day was a big advantage. I guess I don't feel too left out because there is so much new stuff that I enjoy. That said, I'd love to acquire some of these older pages, but I don't see it happening for the majority of them. I started in 2005 as the hockey stick curve of prices started to turn upwards. Too slow off the starting line. OTOH, I still read comics and there are lots and lots of artists whose work I enjoy. Their art isn't as cheap as art was in the 70s and 80s, but it's generally reasonably affordable. So, I buy a lot of newish work and not much old stuff.

My point is that a recreation can have value long after the sale, but it does depend on the artist and the book. SS #4 is among the best covers ever and the Adventure covers feature large numbers of Legionnaires by perhaps the most popular Legion artist. It takes a special combination to retain or increase in value.

FWIW, there are four sales of a SS #4 recreation by John Buscema in Heritage's archive.

If it was a popular character that he originated or substantively changed, I'd say yes. In this case, I'd say no since he didn't (re)define/create Conan.
