  1. What a clever idea. Good job! Where did you get the blanks? I might do this for my wife's birthday.
  2. Sorry you feel that way. I didn't see or sense anyone expressing offense. Come back anytime.
  3. Re: *cough* From the Urban Dictionary, *cough* Used on forums, chat, etc. to represent awkwardness, or break silence. Rarely used to actually represent coughing, unless someone is explaining how they have the flu or something. -- A little more specific -- Cough: 1. Used mostly on a chat, or a forum, as a response to something awkward. 2. Used to tell others you have a cough or something. *Any clash between real names in the example is entirely coincidental* Example of Definition 1: Jamie: Hey whats 1 + 1? Jack: *cough* *cough* Example of definition 2: Jamie: Hey, hows it going? Jack: I *cough* have a cough.
  4. Many of you know about the Molly Danger Kickstarter and that Jamal was slow to fill all the pledges. I just thought that I’d mention that: I got mine! It’s posted on the CAF I signed up for the Volume 2 Kickstarter Click to embiggen:
  5. If you don’t know Mike Maihack’s work and if you prefer your heroes happy, you’ll enjoy what he does. The two most well known works: Cleopatra in Space moves a young Cleo from ancient Egypt to the future where she dominates. SG/BG is a really cute web comic. Mike was at Megacon this year and I picked up a con sketch watercolor of SG/BG. Check it out (click to embiggin): The description will take you to the full set of SG/BG strips and a few are loaded into the Additional Images section.
  6. Two pages from the second volume of the Zita the Spacegirl series. In the books, Zita makes a terrible mistake that leads to the loss of her friend, Joseph. Zita has to make things right. Adventures ensue. I’ve really enjoyed this series and Ben recently put art up for sale on his etsy shop. Take a look. I think you’ll enjoy it.
  7. The power of the internet! Thanks for sharing a bit of your dad's story.
  8. I agree that the Red Nails book's presentation isn't as nice as IDW's, but it is the Red Nails OA and that is wonderful.
  9. I would not bet my retirement on comic book appreciation. Buy them to read and enjoy (hobby money). If you make something great! If not, no loss it was entertainment. There are lots of sources of financial advice and I doubt that any of them will recommend comics for long term savings.
  10. I think we all agree - the latter part of the run is the best, but the 1st cover is pretty compelling. (It was my 5th and final choice)
  11. Added some newly framed pieces (WW by Peter, CPG by Bastian, Action Cat by Baltazar, Battle for the Pants by Brunner) and moved some others. Enjoy.
  12. That was my experience, too. Of course, I had less catch up to do and back then it was called "Little League," but the baseball folks objected.
  13. Now available in color! Yale is making a print out of it so I now have a colored file in the Additional Images area. Just click the link and scroll down: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1197141

  15. For Christmas, Kathy, the Wonder Wife, commissioned Yale Stewart to take the class photo of the JL8 kids. I think he did a terrific job (It’s hard to get them all to behave, especially the bad guys). Click the image to embiggen: If you don’t read his JL8 webcomic, you are missing a treat. You can check it out here.
