  1. The quote mentioned "All that matters is if I can afford it, and if I like it well enough to spend what I can afford." In honesty, I have never purchased from coollines, nor intend to. I do not mean to discount value, nor advise others too. But if you like a piece enough, that the price is justified in your mind, then you may decide to overpay (hopefully realizing that you are overpaying).
  2. Do you respond to inquiries with a description of the art (book/page?) I've never asked for them, but I do wish you'd leave them up as "sold/on hold" for at least 24 hours. It's so frustrating to see your "new art" posts in this forum, advertising art that is missing from the site.
  3. That’s so cool, especially that he traded the other tour guests for the entire story.
  4. I also voted for the Little Princess page. So nice to see his detailed colored work. I hadn't participated in the Best Of since 2010, but am glad I did this year. Lots of nice art on display. Although, seems like there used to be more participants. Four out of my five pieces received votes, thanks to all that voted! -Anthony
  5. Good to know. I’ll keep my eyes peeled Do you think they were like Marvel, where every single cover /page was saved & inventoried, or was DC discarding chunks of original art after publication, not bothering to preserve everything?
  6. Marvel's warehouse has been well documented, was DC also storing their art through the silver age? If so, how much DC silver age art is in the market/with collectors? I have seen very little Batman art from that age, Not just the twice up pages, but also late 60's art.
  7. I just posted some pieces for sale. Some published, some commissions. A Bruce Timm Harley, Rick Leonardi Spider-man, Budd Root Cavewoman, and others! My CAF Gallery Link http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=134505 PM me or contact me through CAF with any questions! Best wishes and happy collecting! Anthony
  8. Just FYI - this piece was on Alberts site a while back. (I recall, because I was looking for the animated version of Catwoman) I'm 95% sure its the same one. Good luck with the sale!
  9. I'm the same. Also I DON'T leave comments on pieces that already have 30-50 comments, and especially if owner is fishing for comments.
  10. If it was me spending 15-20,000, I'd use the money on vintage (1970s) neal adams Batman art. Seems like average pages with Batman go for 5-10K. Check out heritage.com and search their auction archive to see what pieces sold for.
  11. Thanks! Oh, it was moved from the August auction to November Does any one recall the BIN, when the piece was on eBay?
  12. Did anyone see the Gotham Adventures 10 cover by Bruce Timm ? The one featuring Joker and Harley. Was really curious to watch that one. Its no Mad Love, but the page from ML (with lots of stats) sold for about 10k. But now it's not listed anymore...
  13. My sweet spot is the early 90s. I picked up all three off the supermarket newsstands (with discount price sticker on the cover). The art to all three caught my eye, plus each kicked off a new exciting storyline. And I feel so fortunate that the original to Daredevil 319 is now in my collection. I still hope to add a page from ASM 361 and Batman 492, some day.
  14. Beautiful Catwoman by Balent! I saw him post the work in progress, can't believe he was drawing for only $100! Great value. Before (in Pittsburgh) they were either free quick sketches or 300 for predone ones, as detailed as yours.
  15. I am in complete agreement, and heard the same from friends who frequent Heritage and Comiclink. Their site design is such a turnoff, I don't bother browsing their auctions. I also feel like they post a lot of production materials, that is not of interest to me.
  16. I went on such a Daniel Warren Johnson tear after Heroes con, reading his earlier books (and picking up a couple pages thanks to Felix's sale). So it was very fortuitous that Daniel was a guest this month. DWJ was incredibly nice at Heroes, drawing remarks in my books and explaining (as he did in the podcast) that he wants everyone to walk away with art. I'm enjoying his Extremity, but am also looking forward to any updates on his ongoing webseries, Space-Mullet. Great episode Felix! Hearing from the Chicago cabal was fun and very familiar, especially their reminiscing on how they met. -Anthony
  17. So yeah, he occasionally has art sales, for specific artists. Like he had one for Bruce Timm (and I stupidly didn't buy anything) . But they are not a regular thing like Spencer Beck's annual sale.

  19. I wonder how many got burnt by paying 35k for a Bob Kane original through circle gallery? Yikes!!
