  1. Hi, Spencer was setup at the Garden State Comic Fest (NJ) this weekend, and brought some previously unseen Mazzucchelli art to sell. Did anyone get pictures of the art, or would like to share what they purchased? I heard whatever he brought, sold out fast.
  2. I completely get your excitement about this sketch. I am of the age where Frank Miller was given legendary status. And then he was MIA for decades, not sketching or doing many shows. So when sketches showed for sale, they were vintage 70s-early 80s. (Well before my time) I NEVER imagined I’d have an opportunity to commission him. He seemed so unobtainable. So to see him offering sketches for “only” 250 - this seems like a no brainer. And, as for buying these doodles on the secondary market - his dealers thought of that by only sketching on Comics and having them CGC’d!
  3. I picked up one of the internal splashes, because of the art (and Catwoman by JLGL), seeing it published was just a bonus. Actually, the first time in 18 years of collecting that I’ve ever purchased any art before publication. But I never considered Batman 50 to be anything more than an anniversary issue, and I wasn’t tied to the will they/won’t they story.
  4. Chris lists Death sketches for sale a few times a year. Join his mailing list.
  5. Pics or it didn’t happen! Which one do you have? I would also like to know, is that really the going rate? Or just for pages from Batman 497
  6. Yep. I saw when yours was won off eBay too. Kick myself for not bidding on it either LOL
  7. Hi Im interested in David Mazzucchelli inked Batman art. Sketches , not his published art (obviously) Thanks! Anthony
  8. And, I missed it again. Atleast I get to read through it afterwards. Looks like lots of good questions for DWJ.
  9. I think Albert (or maybe Bruce) does not concern himself with fakes and ebay. Albert may help authenticate pieces recently purchased from him, but otherwise doesn't keep track of Bruce's art. Unfortunately, I think the only way to validate it is by asking Bruce in person (at SDCC).
  10. They're still up. Did Albert respond back to you?
  11. He was such a solid illustrator. And his art looked great in chromium! I felt the Hughes (Adam and Steven) ruled the roost during the bad girl craze. Now, how do I get ahold of his estate... ?
  12. Good pick. I was also a huge fan of this one, watching it on Heritage during the Shamus Wizard auctions. I know it is 'only' by Art (and not a Jim Lee) but 1,700 for the X-women was a fair price.
  13. The page I saw in the images, was from Catwoman 1, and today was just listed on ebay under AnthonySnyder. I'm guessing Anthony had it before the show, or picked it up from Albert during the show.
  14. This image was posted from the comic art con, this weekend. Robin II cover
  15. Thanks for the pics! Did Albert have a lot of art by Darwyn Cooke?
  16. The page looks pretty yellowed too (unless that's just the photo). Not from tanning, but from glue likely (pressed against art that stained your page). Just be prepared in case it's that discolored, when it arrives.
  17. Thanks for sharing, always a good read. Heritage withdrew that Ron Lim Infinity War #1 page.
  18. I still don't get whats driving up all the pages (not just Tec 526). It feels like many pages are leftovers (from the family) and not the splash/key pages that should go for big money. I am stunned that the "B" pages are going for 1-3,000. Heritage/Comiclink has been listing "B - C" pages for years and they end up much more affordable.
  19. Very fun art. I like that Darwyn filled in the left background stands, and hand lettered the whole piece. Wish I had gone for one of this Batman/Catwoman recreations when he sold them on ebay, but was intimidated by Albert - trying to win them all! LOL!
  20. I regret not going hard for this splash page from Detective Comics #457 , when it was auctioned on ebay a couple years ago. PRIME O'Neil and Giordano. At the time I couldn't rationalize spending that much on an interior page (non-cover) but now I wish I had stretched for it.
  21. What mylars do you use to store Twice Up artwork? I have a few 13x20 inch pages, that I’d like to better protect, with acid free bag and board. Any suggestions on where to buy less than five mylars and boards that fit large art? Thanks
  22. Wouldn’t touch this in a million years. Can’t believe many bidders were confident enough to pay that much. It’s not very attractive either, an inked piece would be preferable to “his” painting. The art really isn’t certified , just his signature, with nothing about the origin of the piece.
