The movie was ok at best. The nostalgia was fun (nice shot of a VHS tape of Jumpin Jack Flash in the Blockbuster scene). Brie’s performance was flat, and the story was meh. It was boring and I couldn’t wait for it to end. It was almost as enjoyable as Green Lantern. 🤮

The owner of these books is a wonderful guy who is well known to many in this community. He is understandably devestated about this. Please keep your eyes peeled on eBay for vhigh grade Batman’s, including pedigree copies. If you see anything suspect, please message me here and I will put you in touch with the owner.

Great post. If there is any one hobby that could explode and challenge comics it would be the videogame hobby. Lots of similarities. Both have many visual great stories and characters.
I always thought of Nintendo as the Marvel of videogames, especially 1980s Nintendo similar to 1960s Marvels.
Like Marvel did in the 1960s Nintendo did in the 1980s by changing the game. A lot of people forget most video games were DOA by 1983. They couldn't give many games away, than along came Nintendo in 1985 and changed the game like Marvel did in 1961 with Fantastic Four.
I see the Zelda,Metroid and Mega Man early games following a similar path as Hulk #181,ASM#300 and NM #98. They could explode in value. Also don't be surprised if Hollywood finally figures out how to do video games movies good which would add more juice to the value.
A good future in video game collecting. As always the keys and quality over quantity.
You could not be more correct here. Keys and quality over quantity.

my favorites of the bunch. Rygar is a classic that's rare in that condition and that original variant of Commando is exceedingly rare in that condition also, hard to find an opened copy even. Lovely stuff.
Thanks Dan! My faves as well. Goal next year is to track down a few more Capcom cardboard HT’s.

Wow...this thread is...just wow!
I’ve dealt with Jeff for a few years and would gladly vouch for him at any time. Hell of he was in a bind, I’d send him some money, no questions asked.
Now if @Jaymole was in a bind, after all we’ve seen, he wouldn’t get one Canadian cent from me (and I suspect zero from almost everyone else here).
The constant excuses, blaming others, the “whoa is me” financial excuses...are just lame and pathetic. The implications that a potential scam was taking place: well that’s just disgusting.
Asking for a further discount after the fact so you don’t lose money, well that just sickens me even more!
Why should Jeff lose money? Your cheap arse should have taken the books, sold them for what you could have gotten and taken the loss. NOT JEFF!!!
It’s sad that you want to hide behind excuse after excuse.
This may seem harsh but Jeff is a friend and shouldn’t have had to deal with any of this.
Probably best for me to stop posting now. Also probably best for @Jaymole to disappear for another two (or 20) years. Your rep is shot and although we have had dealings in the past, I’d never send you one cent again.
Great, here come the “classy” boardies.

Interface notwithstanding, the information you can get from the people on these boards versus the endless stream of hashtags from Instagram isn't even comparable. You have huge nationwide dealers talking about pricing models, the history of the hobby, what books are starting to pick up, what's cooling off, etc. You have folks that have been in this hobby for 50+ years giving you first person reports of what the first SDCC was like, who the movers and shakers were, and griping about how much things cost now. The relevant insight available here is unreal.
It's two different things, and both of them have their merits and I enjoy both for different reasons.
I try not to get into the whole "what I collect is cool, what you collect sucks" mentality, but I can only take seeing mid-grade bronze/silver "HUGE KEYS" so many times before I fall asleep from boredom. There are a few users on Instagram that I can't wait to see what they post next, because it's not always just comic books. @Sardo Numspar comes to mind immediately, with his oddball collection of WWII propaganda/toys/games. I absolutely love that stuff, but he doesn't post it on the boards, so I would never see it if I didn't use Instagram. @streyouttacomics and @october also post some stunning books on IG that don't always make it to the boards.
That being said, you aren't getting a lot of meaningful information beyond visual stimulation. So then you can come to these forums and read a 50 page thread about the history behind the Okajima pedigree, or a thread dedicated to one specific topic, artist, title, whatever. The sales forum here is also 100 times more developed than Instagram.
Like I said, two different things, both are useful and enjoyable for their own reasons.
Thanks my man! I’m glad you enjoy some of those items. I try to include a detailed background for most of them.

Isaac, thanks for the smooth traps action and wonderful book. Shipping condition was superb.

Such as?
The biggest books I own might be from raffles. But I wouldn't admit that of course.
I find it wonderful to look at a collectors homepage on IG which contains dozens and dozens of images of their prized books. Many of them are not for sale. Nevertheless, I’ve been able to make deals to purchase a number of them. Similarly, I’ve posted books on IG to show off - with no intent to sell - and I was approached with stupid money offers to sell. Would have never placed those books up for sale here.

So he constantly lied to his wife? ...and you were complicit in this? Sounds like a great guy.
You were traumatized by a comic deal? You seem to have told Jeff that your friend didn't have the funds?
Perhaps you should take a break, get some sleep, READ the thread and then post.
Maybe you'll wake up and read what you have written and want to rethink a few things in the morning.
I barely post anymore, but have to say that I love Sharon. This is so spot on.
