  1. Finally completed this set. Incredible amounts of patience required.
  2. Wow, that piece went much higher than I expected.. $4,080. I thought it might go lower since the description didn't mention the year (1984). Strong price.
  3. I think it was a strong price ($78k). I’ve never seen a cover go that high , but I’m not sure I’ve seen a cover on the open market. im curious to see what this iron-on art goes for, as I’ve never seen any of the iron-on OA on the market. Not sure if it would count as “published” if it was only used for the iron-on though https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/illustrations/peter-laird-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-illustration-original-art-undated-/a/7338-95206.s?ic16=ViewItem-Auction-Open-AlsoViewed-081514&tab=BrowseAlsoViewed-012417
  4. I normally prefer things unsigned, but these being signed at the convention in 1985 adds an extra cool factor. I'd rather have it signed, but the collector in me would probably want one signed and one unsigned copy in my collection. Yeah, I've owned four...but unfortunately, now I own Zero. I think at best, someone might be willing to consider it as part of a partial trade/cash deal. Or you could just sell it and put that money toward a #1 first print.
  5. I'm under the assumption that most of the Laird's photo variants are signed on the inside front cover, since it was primarily sold at a convention where both artists were signing. Of the four copies I've owned, only one of them was unsigned.
  6. I remember passing up a first printing for $200 at a con in '93. But I was a teenager and that was a lot of money.
  7. I once purchased an extra Uncanny X-men #294 just to leave it in the polybag.
  8. I've seen a few early covers out there, but not many. #1 (1st printing) and (4th printing), #5's painted cover, and #11. #4 (2nd printing) is said to be owned by Laird. And now #8 is here. I'm guessing Eastman and Laird still own some of the other early covers. This one's already out of my price range (as expected).Good luck to everyone.
  9. Cool to see an early cover coming up on Heritage, and that it was part of Corben's estate. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/kevin-eastman-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-8-cover-original-art-mirage-studios-1986-/p/7338-190007.s
  10. Really cool to see all of these super rare items offered for sale. I'm really blown away by the selling price of the two Mirage News issues ($1,335!). Kinda sad that most of these rare items were signed. I'm one of those weirdos who likes their ultra rare items unsigned. I wish there were some original iron-ons offered as I still need a couple. Oh well, the search continues...
  11. Keep an eye out for issue 3 as well. The cover art is Raph carving a pumpkin sitting in front of some monsters. Does anyone know if there was an issue 4 and beyond?
  12. In all my years of collecting, I've only ever caused two. Nothing of high value, thankfully.
  13. Bringing this sales thread back to offer some deals: Take 25% off of remaining individual books. Take all 6 remaining books for $165 plus shipping (50% discount). Thanks!
  14. I'm usually not a fan of signatures unless I obtained it myself and have a story or memory to go along with it. But this one does look very nice. However, if I were to buy it, I'd probably want an unsigned copy in my collection as well.
  15. Won a nice stack of hole punched X-men at an in-person auction once..
  16. Another tell is the 10 or 12 cent cover price is missing on the GRRs
  17. Very nice. This is one error cover I never picked up during my time collecting. I think it's pretty rare to find. Nice pickup.
  18. Yeah, I think I preordered all of my Spidey hologram covers in one go from an American Entertainment catalog. Man, I was excited for those.
  19. Looks legit to me. For comparison's sake, here are a few authentic raw ones from my collection. I witnessed Stan sign these in 1994 in Philly. I'd guess that yours was signed around the same time period, maybe between 1990-2005.
  20. I have many from the '90s which I obtained myself at many cons, but without any proof. I've been selling some of them occasionally, things like Mark Bagley on ASMs and Peter David on Hulks for $8-10 a pop. Funny, at the time, I was a teenager so excited to meet these guys and get as many signatures as possible from them. I lugged around duffel bags full of comics at cons to get signed.
