  1. Thanks for the nice comments guys. It's nice to have friends who share in your excitement.
  2. From time to time I have fun on Heritage Archive. I search for certain titles and I get to see many books that I might not otherwise have the opportunity to see. I am sure we have all done this before. In the archive, there are a handful of books that I keep looking up and I am just simply in awe of the fact that they exist in such great condition. There is one book in particular that I found myself coming back to over and over again to simply enjoy looking at it, never thinking it realistic that I would ever see it in person, let alone own it. Below is the book I am speaking of. Here is the third book. Completely excited to own this...
  3. This is the second. Tough, tough book and the ow/w pages is bonus (thumbs u
  4. I've picked up 3 Fiction House books in the last couple months. The first two I am very excited about, but the third I will probably type more about in thread. Here is the first one. Rangers Comics 15 CGC 9.2 (Gerber 8)
  5. Thanks for sharing. Can you show us some interior pages of the Australian edition? +1.
  6. Cool book Bill. Love me some Wolverton. Thanks Russ, I may have to snap some interior pics for the "You've seen the Cover" thread, because the interiors are just to wild not to share. That is a great idea. I would love to see some interiors. I'll try and watch that thread. I've never read any of this title, but always wondered if I should start....
  7. ..I'd hypothesise that the damsel on the cover of #15 would have been wearing a red dress, but all the copies I've seen are orange. This is the curse of collecting Fiction House. If you wanted to know what a RED dress would look like on the cover, here it is. Also, I don't think it was supposed to be red. Below is a scan of the back cover of my Rangers #2 which shows a Planet 15 with an orange dress. Notice how the title of the Jungle comics is darker and not orange, so within the same printing run/coloring it shows two hues and the Planet is definitely orange and the jungle is definitely red/orange. Even if 15 were printed "darker", it would seem to me to be just a dark/deep orange and not red. My 2 cents....for now, but my opinion can be swayed.....
  8. Agreed! If we are still on the topic of scarcity - this one is tough in grade - Jeff's is easily the best I've seen. Here's mine: This one is really tough. Only 11 on the census, and only 3 of those are above 6.0. With a lone 8.0 as the highest graded. Also one of the high numbers I still need. Of the 11, I wonder how many are owned by boardies. I have said many times that 65 is the toughest book from 50-73. I can definitely attest that Jeff's 8.0 is super nice. There are other tough ones like 67 and 72 to name a couple, but I think I would agree with a starment before about 34 that "tough" can sometimes be determined by luck. As far as 34 goes, there must be several of us that are lucky to have one, but many more of us who are unlucky in finding a copy. This seems to be true with 8 as well. It looks like a few here have an 8, but it rarely sees the light of day to be sold. Continuing on the luck theme, 8 was one of the first few Planets I ever bought, but it's true scareceness did not hit me until several years went by without seeing 1 single copy for sale.
  9. Here is a 13. I own this one. I submitted it and can attest it is a very nice book inside and out. One "Bonus" aspect of 13 is that it has one of the coolest back covers... Here is a 14 that was up on Ebay about 2 weeks ago with a 'buy it now' option. It was only on Ebay for about 36 hours. I contacted the seller by phone to try and make a deal but by the time I got him (eventually by email), he said it was no longer available. The price was very strong on this 5.5. This is only the second 14 I had ever seen for sale, the other being G+. There are only two graded higher, a 6.0 (see heritage archive) and a 9.2 church book. Anyone on the boards the new owner?
  10. Here is a better scan of that book, courtesy of skybolt (Many thanks Ed!) Here is an even better scan (more accurate on the true coloring) of your book. It does have much better coloring than your first scan. It is a very nice book. (thumbs u
  11. Happy Birthday, hope you make it a great one!
  12. As I posted earlier, I think 6 and 10 are the scarcest of 1-10, but within the entire Planet run 14,15 are the toughest to locate in any condition. I have reached the point where I think 14 is more scarce than 15. My top 6 toughest Planets to find in the run and within this list there is only a thin line separating each of these. Toughest listed first... 14 15 6 10 13 34 Love to see what everyone else thinks. To keep it consistent, list just 6. As I said before there is a thin line of separation. They are all very very very challenging to locate.
  13. For Planet 1-10, the list below shows what I have found to be true over the time I have collected Planets... 6 and 10 are the hardest to find, definitely 1a 5 is also difficult, almost like a 1b 8 is next on the list All above are difficult, but the other six books are about equal in rarity with #1 being the easiest to find. None of Planet 1-10's are super plentiful, but can be very very difficult to find in F/VF and above.
  14. I wanted to submit and never got around to it. I agree with you that c/ow is a great possibility since (in my opinion) old label books were judged almost too strict on PQ.
  15. Nice fight, seems most Fights have someone tied up...
  16. Very cool book. Nicest condition Nellie I've ever seen.
  17. Cool Sometimes #2's are just as cool as #1's.
