  1. One of my favs of the Torch run. Congrats Jim (thumbs u +1 +2 Nice find. Great torch cover. Who can resist an asbestos lady story? +3 Asbestos Lady must be the mother of Asbestos Man, who fought Johnny Storm in Strange Tales #111. The PQ is great on it with no cover tanning. Unfortunately the dang thing was double guide in mid grade. I can blame Ernie Gerber for this .....I'd never have even known it existed if not for him. When his PhotoJournals first came out I spent a whole weekend zoned in to it...."I want this and that and this and that,,," and that Torch was one of the first ones to go on my dream list. It was a bonus to find out it has Everett art on the Human Torch stories.....Everett is and Syd Shores may be my favorite cover artist of the GA.....excluding Schomburg airbrush covers...and Everett horror. I spent WAY to much at the show and had to sell one of the Yellow Claws I got to a boardie friend....it was a tough choice, but I'll see the Yellow Claw again but the Torch seems truly scarce....don't know why it's only a Gerber 4. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Double condition guide is cheap. It doesn't come available very often. I don't think I have ever seen one at auction. When I auctioned off my later Timely runs I kept the 27... That one is a keeper. You wouldn't happen to have kept the 32 and want to show it?

  3. (thumbs u like it!! Georgie is a fun title.
  4. Glad it came back "better" than the other guys. I saw it in the bst and it looked nice. You pulled the trigger faster than me. Zolnerowich is the best !
  5. Nice group of books Jeff. The Jumbo 35 is great. Is this one Alanna's old copy?
  6. Bought this group from 143ksk. I had been looking for the Georgie for a long time. I will try and read the Georgie and Hedy sometime over the next few days. The stories always give me a laugh and the nostalgia shown from this era in Americana is interesting.
  7. I bought this book on the boards from 'thehumantorch' a couple months ago. I had it sent to CGC and when I received it back I posted a pic here from my iPhone. Some of you may know, I don't have a scanner. This morning I was lucky enough to have access to a scanner so I thought I would share my first scan. I couldn't figure out how to scan a bigger area, but you can see the book well. Here is a tough book to locate, Rangers Comics 2 I had never seen a single copy of this issue before I purchased. I was very excited to see the back cover. Notice the elusive Planet 15 cover.
  8. Is this the church copy you guys are talking about....
  9. What a beautiful book !! I have been looking for this issue for a couple years now. That is by far the nicest one of this issue I have ever seen. It is classic Disney.
  10. Love the Marvel Mystery 71. One of my favorites from the later part of the run.
  11. There are several tough ones, just wondering which issues would you consider "tough" or tougher?
  12. My favorite of the bunch. Congrats on putting the set together Michael that was the one that got the deal rolling (thumbs u Amazing really! A month ago I had no inkling that I'd now be one book away from completing the rivet run by obtaining 7 of the first 10 issues in mostly nice shape. Especially as I'd spent years just getting to that point! Great accomplishment, especially in such a short period of time. The 8 and 10 are tough, both of yours are super nice.
  13. 3 awesome fight covers !! The 32 is especially cool with the body parts flying in the background.
  14. I owned a copy of this book and sold it in 2009. I regretted it and luckily picked up this copy last week. When I sold my first copy, in the description I called it elusive and I still agree. This is a nice bright copy that looks better than the technical grade. The green and reds are bold.
  15. Very nice group. 30 is a cool book. Your 38 seems to have great coloring.
  16. I've always thought the "bad guy" resembled Hitler with his little mustache and his pirate armband that is close to a swashtika looking armband. I also think that the cover resembles a Zolnerowich style cover, I like Celardo too what few books I know he did.
  17. My new Fight, thanks to Michael (Alanna).
  18. You are right, it is a shame when this thread hangs out on page 2. Glad you put it back on page 1 with some really nice books. I especially like your Jungle 28 (thumbs u
