  1. Know that I am extremely jealous that you get to start this now! This is a show that really rewards repeat viewing, I'd just say watch them in series order and enjoy. Some things can seem pretty random and come back much later to reveal they were more than an offhand throwaway gag (that's where the repeat viewing comes in). Don't set your expectations too high or you will be disappointed but it's a really fun show.
  2. I've been here for about a decade now and I'd say the quality of discourse has gone downhill in that span. Mostly; there are still some great people and great threads, but the overall decline seems obvious to me.
  3. Please tell me the huge ugly logo is on the back of these
  4. TWD, like most shows on television eventually, is simply past its prime. As Bilbo said in LOTR, it feels like "too little butter spread over too much toast." And while I'm certain this show still has a huge audience, most people I know who were fans have moved on. And this has nothing to do with comic collecting.
  5. I always wondered what he was going after during his sales. Kind of funny turning GGA into Peanuts.
  6. Not really a book I wanted, but I had some credit at a not-so-L lcs that I wanted to use up, so I picked this up today. I’m thinking 5-ish
  7. Funny, I went to school in London in the summer of '89, and nearly missed my plane out of Boston because I wanted to catch the Batman movie before I left.
  8. Any of the Marvel 1968 premieres can be had for $500...not particularly rare but cool keys nonetheless. Silver Surfer #4 too, possibly a low grade Avengers 4.
  9. Just curious if anyone thinks movie speculation will do anything for the first appearance of the Skrulls. I recently picked up a low grade copy, although not for this reason (it was just an affordable target of opportunity at an lcs).
  10. I'm a huge R&M fan but not so much into collectibles. What are some other highlights of your R&M trove? S H O W M E W H A T Y O U G O T
  11. The only statue I'd ever want, that is fantastic!
  12. I heard that for Kirby's 100th, PGX are bringing in an automatic writer (a psychic medium that speaks with/for the dead, but through writing) to do some PGX signature series Kirby books.
  13. If everyone on this board that had been ripped off on Ebay posted a single reply this thread would be hundreds of pages long.
  14. Maybe something comic-related? A mask or other accessory that could be useful for Halloween, a statue, some nice display cases, as mentioned previously a nice book, subscription to digital comics...
  15. Buy the book not the label. The book is what it is no matter what color or terms are applied. Care about the hard facts, such as whether or not it was cleaned. Don't like cleaning? Don't buy the book. I'm not naive enough to ignore that labels affect the selling price, but the bottom line is the reality of the book itself, and there is the collector-speak surrounding it. One is real, the other are arbitrary definitions. The fact that a price can change while the book itself remains the same does not speak well of this hobby.
  16. AF15 has been crazy for several years now. A long time ago I spent $600 on a copy that turned out to have a repro cover on Ebay. I fought the good fight and got my money back, but today that would be an outstanding deal and I kick myself for not keeping it.
